Data Engineer

DFDS is looking for a Data Engineer to join our Istanbul Data Engineering team, which is part of a diverse and dynamic Data Engineering chapter of 14 experienced colleagues from a range of backgrounds and nationalities, working across three different locations. In This Role, You Will As a Data Engineer at DFDS, you'll be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that builds and maintains the data infrastructure powering decision-making across the company. You will work closely with other data engineers, analysts, data scientists, platform engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and actionable. You will work with a modern tech stack including dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, and AWS components such as S3. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain robust data pipelines using Airflow and dbt Develop and maintain data integrations, including ingestion from REST APIs Design and optimize data models in Snowflake for analytics and reporting Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across systems Contribute to the evolution of our data platform and engineering best practices Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing within the chapter Support the onboarding of new tools and technologies as we scale What We’re Looking For We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. The ideal person for this position will have the following qualifications : Experience with data engineering tools such as dbt, Airflow, or similar Familiarity with cloud data platforms and technologies such as Snowflake and AWS Solid understanding of SQL and data modelling principles Experience working with Python in a data engineering context A good understanding of Power BI semantic models and the reporting/data-model layer Knowledge of containerization, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices; hands-on experience is preferred A willingness to learn, share knowledge, and contribute to engineering best practices A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills A willingness to take ownership of data pipelines and integrations from requirements gathering through to production Working at DFDS Join the movement and grow with us.
