2027 Graduate Software, Firmware & AI Engineering Internships - US

Key Responsibilities Interns may be assigned one or more of the following responsibilities based on project needs, team priorities, and individual strengths: Design, develop, test, and maintain software tools or infrastructure that support engineering workflows and product development. Contribute to firmware features, embedded software, test environments, or debug workflows for SSD and storage-related technologies. Apply machine learning, data analysis, or AI techniques to improve engineering productivity or validation efficiency. Explore or implement AI-assisted tools and workflows that help automate engineering tasks. Build automation frameworks and scripts to improve firmware testing and regression execution. Support validation of software or firmware functionality; analyze failures and assist with root-cause analysis. Analyze test results, logs, and performance metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional firmware, software, validation, and hardware teams; document tools and debug findings. Minimum Qualifications Currently pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Experience with a programming language such as Python, C, C++, or Java. Familiarity with Linux-based development environments and version control (e.g., Git). Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a technical team environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with firmware development, embedded software, or low-level systems programming. Familiarity with SSDs, NAND flash, NVMe, PCIe, or storage systems. Experience with software validation, test automation, or regression frameworks. Exposure to AI/ML concepts, LLMs, AI agents, or applied machine learning workflows. Experience building automation using Python, shell scripting, or CI/CD tools. Familiarity with performance analysis, log analysis, or telemetry.
