Product Operations Engineer Our Global Operations organization operates Dell’s end-to-end supply chain, from planning and partnering with suppliers, to manufacturing the product and delivering it to customers. We deliver Dell’s comprehensive portfolio with industry-leading scale and supply chain capabilities. Our Global Operations Engineering team represents GO in cross-functional product design teams. Our organization enables the supply chain to support new products, features and solutions our customers need and want. We ensure smooth migration of hardware, software, networking processes and product builds into the production environment. Our team creates factory strategies and plans based on product roadmaps to drive overall manufacturing capabilities in support of competitive transformation cost, quality improvement, product manufacturability and flexibility and operations cycle time. What you’ll achieve As a Product Operations Engineer , you will be responsible for enabling our supply chain organization to introduce new products and technology. As the lynchpin connecting product research and development with operations, you will manage the product in the factory end-to-end. You will be responsible for piloting the product in the factory, ensuring the product flows through development cycles, consistently updating with new features and enabling the factory to deliver a quality product, manufactured at scale. In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage and influence stakeholders across different functions, disciplines and cultures, and procure a breadth of understanding about supply chain operations. We are dedicated to developing talent, and we will invest in team members that have strong technical and operational backgrounds—it takes both to succeed in this role. From this role, team members have completed leadership rotations to gain experience developing others and advanced within Global Operations into Operations, Product, Research & Development, Manufacturing or Procurement. You will: · Work with GOE and engage with Core team/MKT/Procurement/MFG/QA extended team to launch product on time . Organize and lead mechanical sample and assembly parts review with ODM / global factory team / quality from mockup to pilot. Find defects earlier, implement solution, evaluate process capabilities to support eligible new product feature and simplify factory process. · Ensure the manufacturability, reliability and serviceability of designs as product experts. Utilize metrics to improve product introduction, enhancement and management through the life of the product. Be responsible for product change management smoothly, lead team to minimize engineering disruption to customer order, when engineering issue occur . Lead and co-work with Ops team ( GOQ, Testing and Operation) to analyze equipment and test plan requirements to perform verification; conduct experimental tests and evaluate results ahead of read to ship to empower the product fulfillment. Ensure Operations achieves Ready to Ship Release status and transitions into production / sustaining . To lead Ops team to perform trouble shooting and issue analysis for problem and drive for root cause.
