We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Acoustic Consultant, or Experienced Graduate Acoustic Consultant, to join our growing team in London. You will be working on projects across Buildings, Environment and Transportation sectors in the UK and further afield.   In London, our team is currently supporting the decarbonisation and refurbishment of listed buildings on Regent Street, supporting the long-term conservation of St Paul’s Cathedral and the vibration isolation of multiple buildings from London Underground. Across the UK and further afield, we are supporting a variety of development sectors from power and infrastructure, to manufacturing and data storage, as well as residential, educational, healthcare and heritage.    To succeed in this role, you must have some relevant experience in acoustic consultancy either as part of an industrial placement year or post-graduate. You must also be diligent, enthusiastic to learn, and a team player able to support our extensive and interesting portfolio of work. You will also be part of a thriving international specialist group of over 100 acousticians in over 12 countries. In the UK, the team operates across four offices (Cambridge, London, Birmingham and Manchester).   We win a third of our work from external clients, with two-thirds providing collaborative acoustic consultancy support to our own environmental, transport and building engineers. We deliver a wide variety of environmental and buildings projects including new schools and hospitals and sustainable places for people to live and work, large scale residential-led masterplans and high-profile landmark buildings in London and beyond.  In previous years our acousticians have worked as far afield as the Falkland Islands.   Our team is highly experienced, engaged, motivated and committed to delivering excellence to our clients in all areas of acoustic consultancy. Our pipeline is diverse, robust and most importantly, resilient.   Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:  Consultancy liaison and team-working with our UK and international acoustics team, and with Ramboll’s Environment and Health and Buildings teams.  Effective consultation and communication of acoustic design to non-specialists and local planning authorities.  Undertaking baseline noise and vibration surveys.  Support our site inspections and building acoustic testing (sound insulation, reverberation, STIPA) on Building projects.  Undertaking technical assessment and acoustic modelling (CADNA/A, Ease, Odeon).  Contributing to technical reports ranging from Acoustic Engineering Reports to Environmental Statements and supporting technical appendices.  Effectively managing own workload with support from our team and your mentor.  Your starting point for personal growth  Based in London, you will be supported by a motivated and capable UK team of acousticians. From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with our company.   Working alongside experienced acousticians, you will receive direct guidance to build your technical knowledge and learn how to practically apply UK Standards and Guidelines (for example BS 4142, BS 8233, and BS 5228). Your growth will be accelerated through shadowing of more experienced members of our team, tailored internal and external training, and through cross-discipline working (particularly with environmental specialists).  Our team goes from strength to strength supported by projects across a range of sectors resulting in a unique and diverse portfolio.
