aDesign Engineer Consultant

Assignment Overview: We are looking for aDesign Engineer Consultant for a 6 month assignment within the VCB Components Installation Unit, focusing on heavy truck development. In this role, you will lead and support VCB system installations, working closely with cross functional teams to integrate new technologies and solutions in ongoing truck projects. You will contribute to TRATON’s modular system development, including: • VCB distribution boxes, charging boxes, and inlet installations • PTO installations • Cable harness brackets and strain relief solutions • VCA cable interface integration within the chassis domain The assignment involves collaboration with global teams across product planning, production, and design, ensuring robust and scalable solutions. You will also be expected to support and contribute to the continuous improvement of digital tools and engineering processes, helping drive innovation in future transportation solutions. Responsibilities: • As a Design Engineer consultant, you will: o Design and develop VCB system installations within heavy truck projects, using CATIA and company design standards o Collaborate with cross functional teams and suppliers to ensure robust and manufacturable solutions o Support integration, validation testing, and design reviews, ensuring quality and timely delivery o Maintain and update technical documentation and support production-related activities when needed o Participate in daily team activities, including stand-ups, coordination meetings, and internal knowledge sharing Education:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field Experience: • Minimum 2 years of design engineering experience, preferably in automotive industries. • Strong skills in sheet metal bracket design • Experience in chassis installation for heavy-duty trucks • Proficiency in CATIA V5 and tolerance analysis • Knowledge of manufacturability principles for sheet metal • Experience within Scania or TRATON Group R&D is a preferable Language : English Personal / Soft Skills: • Ability to collaborate with suppliers and internal teams for design reviews • Excellent facilitation and communication skills • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to inspire and collaborate with teams Assignment Details • Scope: 100% • Duration: 6 months • Start Date: ASAP • Language: English is required, Swedish is considered an advantage • Location: Södertälje, Sweden • Workplace: On-site, 5 days per week Application : ALL consultants must be submitted using the required Scania CV template.
