Agile Product Owner – Payments

For our client within the financial sector, we are looking for an experienced Agile Product Owner (APO) with strong expertise in Swedish and international payments. Start: October 1, 2026 End: September 30, 2027 Scope: 100% Location: Stockholm – hybrid, 3 days/week on-site About the assignment The consultant will work as an Agile Product Owner in a team responsible for payment solutions. The role requires deep payment-domain knowledge combined with strong Agile leadership and stakeholder management skills. Required experience Payments Strong knowledge of Swedish domestic payment systems, including Bankgirot/BGC, RIX-INST and RIX-RTGS Good understanding of clearing and settlement processes for SEK payments Experience with international and cross-border payments Strong knowledge of SWIFT (MT/MX) and ISO 20022 Understanding of payment-related regulatory requirements, including PSD2 and AML/KYC Knowledge of FX handling and reconciliation within payments Agile Product Ownership Experience as Product Owner, Agile Product Owner or similar role Strong understanding of Agile frameworks such as SAFe, Scrum and Kanban Experience with backlog refinement, prioritization, sprint planning and reviews Ability to prioritize product development based on business value Technical understanding Experience working with modern banking or fintech solutions Understanding of APIs for payment initiation and reporting Understanding of cloud-based technologies and modern system environments Leadership & stakeholders Strong stakeholder management skills Experience working closely with developers, testers and other technical specialists Ability to collaborate with Risk, Compliance and other business functions as well as external partners Meritorious Experience with European payment systems and clearing, such as: TARGET2 EBA EURO1 SEPA Credit Transfer SEPA Instant Credit Transfer Experience analyzing transaction data to improve payment services and reduce costs is also advantageous.
