Let's start with the role As an Analytics Engineer at Kaizen Gaming, you’ll be at the heart of our data-driven initiatives, working on the silver and gold layers of our medallion architecture. Your role is integral to enhancing our four core elements: discoverability, security, quality, and data observability. As an Analytics Engineer, you will: Design, build, and maintain scalable data models and transformation pipelines using Databricks, SQL, and dbt. Translate business requirements into reliable, reusable, and production-ready data solutions. Apply best practices in data modelling, testing, documentation, and data quality. Own the reliability of your data products, investigating issues and continuously improving existing solutions. Collaborate with Data Engineering, BI, and business teams to deliver trusted data solutions. Contribute to engineering practices around code quality, version control, peer reviews, and CI/CD. What you'll bring: 3+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or a similar data-focused role. Strong SQL skills and experience working with complex, large-scale datasets. Hands-on experience with dbt and Databricks. Good understanding of ETL/ELT and modern data architectures, with hands-on experience building data models for reporting and analytics. Comfortable with GitLab and Git branching, merging, and version-control workflows. Experience with AI-assisted development and modern coding practices to improve productivity and code quality. Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and commitment to data quality. Good communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Experience with Dagster or other orchestration tools is a plus. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS is a plus.
