Your role We are now looking for an experienced and inspiring Area Manager to lead a strategically important organization within department Fighter Support, one of the key departments within BU Aviation Services. As Area Manager, you will lead an area of specialists and analysts, responsible for advanced Integrated Product Support (IPS) and lifecycle support capabilities for some of Saab's most critical aerospace programs, including Gripen and GlobalEye. As several aircraft systems continue to move into operational service and Saab's global customer base expands, the demand for advanced support solutions and lifecycle expertise continues to grow. You will be responsible for ensuring competence development and effective processes across all projects and commitments, while driving the continued development of the organization and its capabilities. This is a leadership role that combines organizational leadership, business development, and long-term capability growth in a technology-driven environment focused on innovation and operational excellence. You will report to the Head of Fighter Support and serving on the department management team and contribute to strategic priorities, business development, and the continued evolution of our support capabilities. Your Profile We are looking for a confident leader with strong analytical skills and a genuine interest in technology and development. You are communicative, structured, and thrive in a role where you can combine strategic leadership with operational execution. You have the ability to lead through others, build engagement, and create the conditions for high-performing teams to succeed. As a member of the Fighter Support Management Team, you contribute to both the operational performance and long-term development of the business. We believe you have: Leadership experience with personnel, business, and financial responsibility Experience leading managers, or from a senior leadership role A technical or analytical background, preferably within Integrated Product Support (IPS), Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), lifecycle management, sustainment, or a related field Experience of, or a good understanding of, complex maintenance and support systems Experience from project-based operations Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English Experience from the aerospace or defense industry is considered a strong advantage, as is knowledge of supportability engineering, reliability, maintainability, and logistics support solutions. An understanding of data-driven ways of working, preferably within Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning, is also considered meritorious. This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection.
