the opportunity to develop independence as a researcher and to acquire the research and teaching qualifications required for appointment as a senior lecturer. Duties are divided equally between research (50%) and teaching (50%). We are looking for someone who wishes to contribute over a four-year period to the continued development of the work carried out within the major joint initiative [Samverkan e-hälsa](https://lnu.se/mot-linneuniversitetet/samarbeta-med-oss/Projekt-och-natverk/samverkan-e-halsa/). The position involves contributing, on the basis of existing joint structures and initiatives, to the continued development of an interdisciplinary knowledge and research environment in e-health that is nationally leading and internationally recognised. Key areas of development in e-health include artificial intelligence and other advanced methods for analysing health data; patient self-care, self-monitoring, sensor technologies and remote care; and automation. The environment is also intended to help make the county attractive to employees, students and companies in the cluster being developed around eHealth Arena, and contribute to freeing up time and resources for high-quality, person-centred and resource-efficient care, to the benefit of both residents and healthcare professionals. Research is expected to be conducted in collaboration with researchers affiliated with the environment and to involve active participation in its graduate school, seminar series, conferences and similar activities. An equally important aspect of the position is to contribute to and further develop education associated with the research environment. The duties therefore include teaching at first-, second- and third-cycle level, including course coordination, teaching planning and delivery, assessment, and supervision of degree projects. The position also involves keeping abreast of developments in the field and of broader societal developments of relevance to the collaboration between Linnaeus University and Region Kalmar County. **Eligibility requirements** To be eligible for appointment as an associate senior lecturer, applicants must hold a doctoral degree in a subject relevant to the position or possess equivalent research expertise. Relevant subjects include, but are not limited to, e-health, health sciences, caring science, medicine, welfare technology, informatics, computer science, artificial intelligence, information systems, medical technology, engineering, statistics, machine learning, human–computer interaction, or another field with clear relevance to the digitalisation and development of healthcare. In accordance with Chapter 4, Section 4a of the Higher Education Ordinance, preference will be given to applicants who obtained their doctoral degree, or achieved equivalent competence, no more than seven years before the application deadline for the position of associate senior lecturer. However, applicants who obtained their doctoral degree or achieved equivalent competence more than seven years before the application deadline may also be considered if there are special grounds. Special grounds include leave due to illness, parental leave, or other similar circumstances. Further eligibility requirements include: - the ability and motivation to contribute to interdisciplinary research and education at the intersection of technology, health, healthcare and society - the ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English. As the position involves collaboration with the Swedish healthcare sector, applicants must be able to work in a Swedish context. The ability to communicate in Swedish, or to develop such ability within a reasonable period of time, is therefore important for the position. Desirable qualifications include: - experience of artificial intelligence, data analytics, health data, sensor technologies, self-monitoring, remote care, automation, digital care pathways or related areas - experience in implementation, project management and/or health economics - a good understanding of the organisation and governance of the Swedish healthcare system - a documented ability to secure external research funding - clinical or other relevant experience from the healthcare sector - qualifying training in teaching and learning in higher education corresponding to the national guidelines of the Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions (SUHF) (15 credits), or equivalent competence - the ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written Swedish. **Assessment criteria** In the appointment of an associate senior lecturer, the degree of proficiency demonstrated in the areas required for eligibility for the position will serve as the basis for assessment. When appointing new teaching staff, the University selects the applicant who, based on an overall qualitative assessment of qualifications and competence, is considered to have the best potential to perform and develop the duties associated with the position and to contribute to the successful development of the organisation. The assessment of _research expertise_ is guided by the independence, extent and quality of the applicant’s research. In such assessment, weight will be given to research experience in areas such as e-health, digitalisation, health data, artificial intelligence, sensor technology, remote solutions, automation, or other areas relevant to the development of future healthcare. Particular weight will also be given to the applicant’s statement of intent, including a well-developed research proposal that contributes to the continued development of the work carried out within the major joint initiative Samverkan e-hälsa. _Teaching expertise_ must have been demonstrated through teaching and encompasses the development, planning, delivery and evaluation of teaching, as well as supervision and assessment.
