the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects within Olsson’s federal portfolio. Key responsibilities: Provides structural design elements for federal engineering projects using fundamental knowledge of structural principles, standard techniques, and established methods for small to mid-sized projects. Performs basic structural plan production and receives instructions for necessary tasks, including drafting and detailing structural components. Develops and apply knowledge and experience working within structural design and modeling software, such as Revit, Risa, and other structural analysis tools. Assist with project schedules, engineering calculations, and preparation of construction documents. Coordinates with experienced structural engineers and designers on non-routine techniques and procedures to ensure compliance with codes and standards. Gather research, recommend solutions, and create drafts of technical reports. Mentor student interns by providing opportunities for developing basic structural engineering skills and knowledge. May travel and work in various terrains and weather conditions at project sites in different stages of construction. Preferred qualifications: We’re looking for candidates who bring both technical expertise and leadership potential: A minimum of one year of engineering experience. Bachelor’s degree in civil or architectural engineering or a related engineering field. Possesses Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification. Strong communication skills. Ability to contribute and work well with a team. Solid interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Demonstrates the ability to diligently research applicable structural codes, standards, and regulations. Knowledge in structural engineering technologies, such as Revit and structural analysis softwares. Willingness to travel and work in field conditions as needed.
