<h2><strong>Automation Process Engineering Manager</strong></h2><p><strong>Location:</strong> Gothenburg, Sweden (alternative location: Shanghai, China)</p><h3>Help Scale the Manufacturing Platform Behind Next-Generation AI Technology</h3><p>Smart High Tech AB is a Swedish deep-tech company developing graphene-enhanced thermal interface materials for AI infrastructure, semiconductors, data centres and advanced electronics.</p><p>As we move from commercialisation into industrial scale-up, we are seeking an experienced Automation Process Engineering Manager to lead the development of automated, scalable and high-performance manufacturing operations.</p><h3>The Role</h3><p>You will lead the transition from current manufacturing to stable, high-volume production. Working closely with R&amp;D, Production and Quality, you will develop the processes, automation systems and manufacturing capabilities required to support rapid growth while ensuring operational excellence and product quality.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li><p>Lead manufacturing scale-up from current production to mass production.</p></li><li><p>Design and implement automated manufacturing processes and workflows.</p></li><li><p>Develop robust process architectures ensuring efficiency, stability and repeatability.</p></li><li><p>Define automation requirements and manage equipment selection and integration.</p></li><li><p>Establish process control systems to meet customer and quality requirements.</p></li><li><p>Drive continuous improvement in yield, quality, productivity and operational performance.</p></li><li><p>Support factory design, production line development, commissioning and ramp-up.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with R&amp;D, Production, Quality and Supply Chain teams to ensure successful industrialisation.</p></li><li><p>Build and develop a high-performing process engineering capability.</p></li></ul><h3>Qualifications &amp; Experience</h3><ul><li><p>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.</p></li><li><p>Minimum 10 years' experience in automation process engineering, industrialisation or advanced manufacturing.</p></li><li><p>Proven experience scaling manufacturing operations from pilot production to mass production.</p></li><li><p>Strong expertise in factory automation, process engineering and industrial process control.</p></li><li><p>Hands-on experience in production line design, commissioning and optimisation.</p></li><li><p>Experience working with automation suppliers and system integrators.</p></li><li><p>Strong leadership, project management and stakeholder management skills.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Experience from one or more of the following industries is highly desirable:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Graphene and advanced materials</p></li><li><p>Battery manufacturing and energy storage</p></li><li><p>Semiconductors</p></li><li><p>Electronics manufacturing</p></li><li><p>Other high-tech industrial environments</p></li></ul><h3>Additional Advantages</h3><ul><li><p>Experience participating in factory build-ups from concept to mass production.</p></li><li><p>Experience working in international manufacturing environments.</p></li><li><p>Experience from China and/or Europe.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing and digital production systems.</p></li><li><p>Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.</p></li><li><p>Mandarin language skills and experience working with Chinese suppliers or manufacturing organisations.</p></li></ul><h3>Language Requirements</h3><ul><li><p>Fluent English, written and spoken.</p></li><li><p>Mandarin Chinese is highly desirable.</p></li><li><p>Swedish is advantageous but not essential.</p></li></ul><h3>Personal Qualities</h3><ul><li><p>Strong technical leadership with a hands-on approach.</p></li><li><p>Analytical, structured and solution-oriented.</p></li><li><p>Execution-focused with a strong sense of ownership.</p></li><li><p>Comfortable in a fast-growing international environment.</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication and collaboration skills.</p></li></ul><h3>Why Join Smart High Tech?</h3><p>This is an opportunity to play a key role in building the manufacturing platform required to support next-generation AI infrastructure and advanced electronics.</p><p>Working alongside leading scientists, engineers and international partners, you will help scale breakthrough graphene technology from innovation to global industrial production.</p><p><strong>Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis, and we encourage early applications.</strong></p>
