Backend Developer

Assignment Description We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join our Robotics team in Huskvarna. Fluent in English (Swedish proficiency is a bonus) Tasks In this role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and operating cloud-based backend services that power our next-generation robotic solutions. You will work in a high-performing team delivering robust and scalable microservices within a modern DevOps environment. The assignment requires onsite presence at our Huskvarna location four days [MA(2.1] per week. Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Kotlin (and to some extent Java). Deploy and operate systems on AWS using services such as ECS, ElastiCache, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and API Gateway. Participate in defining and implementing CI/CD pipelines and container-based deployments using Docker. Support and enhance Infrastructure as Code practices (AWS CDK, CloudFormation and Terraform) Engage in code reviews, testing, and performance tuning to ensure high-quality deliverables. Work in an agile team, contributing to all phases of the DevOps lifecycle. Required skills Strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java. Experience with Quarkus and Gradle is a plus. Hands-on experience with AWS services including ECS (or Kubernetes), ElastiCache (or Redis/Valkey), Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and API Gateway. Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining distributed systems and microservices architectures. Experience of building applications using layered/clean architecture is a plus. Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices, as well as container technologies such as Docker and ECS/Kubernetes. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like AWS CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Experience of Big Data tools such as Databricks is a plus.
