BUSINESS OPERATIONS DIRECTOR / COO

AVOLT is a Stockholm-based design studio with a team of around 10 people, creating products that combine Scandinavian design with everyday functionality. We sell internationally through our own e-commerce, Amazon, retailers, agents and distributors, while also working with architects, interior designers and hospitality partners across Europe, the US and beyond. We are now looking for a Business Operations Director / COO to join our team in Stockholm and take a key role in the next stage of AVOLT. THE ROLE This is a broad and hands-on role at the center of the business, working closely with our CEO and other senior members of the team. You will be responsible for making sure the business behind AVOLT works and continues to scale as we grow internationally. The role covers areas such as: - Business operations and company-wide projects - Leading and developing our sales operations and back-office function - B2B, distributor and agent operations - Supply chain, purchasing and inventory - 3PL, freight and international logistics - Budgeting, forecasting and business follow-up - Systems, data and automation - New markets and international expansion - Contracts, compliance and external partners - Supporting the CEO and senior team in strategic and operational decisions You will work closely across the company, particularly with sales, product development and our Sales & Operations Coordinator, as well as with our international distributors, agents and external partners. Our Sales & Operations Coordinator manages much of the day-to-day operational flow across B2B and e-commerce, including order handling, invoicing, customer administration and coordination with our 3PL partners. Your role is to own and develop the processes and systems behind this, solve more complex operational issues, and ensure the function can scale as AVOLT grows. FINANCE & BUSINESS You should be comfortable with numbers and understand how P&L, margins, inventory and forecasting connect to the wider business. AVOLT operates through AVOLT AB in Sweden and its wholly owned US subsidiary, AVOLT Inc. The role involves understanding and coordinating the financial and operational flows across both entities, together with our external accounting and specialist partners. Together with the CEO and senior team, you will work with budgeting, forecasting and business follow-up, using data to support decisions across the company. This is not an accounting role. We work with external accounting firms and other specialists where it makes sense. What matters is that you understand the numbers, make sure we have control and can turn insights into action. DIGITAL & AI AVOLT is already a highly digital organization. Across the team, we use AI, automation and tools such as Claude Code, Lovable and ChatGPT to build our own solutions and improve how we work. You won't be alone in this – it is already part of how we operate. We're looking for someone who enjoys working this way and wants to take it further. You don't need to be a developer, but you should be technically curious and interested in building, testing and improving things yourself. You don't need to know everything from day one, but you should have relevant experience to build from and be motivated to keep learning and developing.
