Chassis Design Engineer

About the Role You will join a product development environment in the automotive industry where new structural chassis components are developed for a common platform. This role combines hands-on CAD design with planning and follow-up across testing, simulation and validation, giving you the chance to work through the full development cycle from design to implementation. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and customers in a setting where product maturity, manufacturability and quality are all central. Job Description You design and develop structural chassis components such as brackets, frame components, cross members, cast parts and forged parts. You create, update and maintain 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings in CATIA V5. You establish and follow up test, simulation and time plans as part of the product development process. You perform basic engineering calculations to support design decisions and product maturity. You work with GD&T, tolerance management and tolerance chain analysis to secure robust designs. You support simulation activities and contribute to validation work when needed. You investigate field quality issues and help drive improvements through implementation. You collaborate with cross-functional teams and internal customers while independently driving your work forward. Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of experience in design engineering and product development. Previous experience from the automotive industry. Previous experience working in the end-client’s development environment. Strong experience using CATIA V5. Experience creating and maintaining 2D manufacturing drawings. Experience with GD&T and tolerance chain analysis. Experience designing structural mechanical components, including steel parts, cast parts, forged parts, brackets and similar structural components. Good understanding of mechanical product development processes. Ability to perform basic engineering calculations related to component design. Experience working with structural chassis components. Hands-on experience with OAS, TestIT, FRAS and TTR. Fluent English, written and spoken. Fluent Swedish, written and spoken. Nice to have Experience with 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX).
