Want to help shape the cloud infrastructure behind our internal platforms? As Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at Haypp, you’ll design, build and run secure, scalable infrastructure on Google Cloud (GCP) and AWS, working hand in hand with our Data Team to deliver the internal platforms they rely on every day. If you love infrastructure as code and solving hard problems with an engineering mindset, this is your chance to make a real impact. WHAT YOU'LL DO Your role as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will be diverse and hands-on. Working closely with our colleague Khan and the rest of our Group IT team to deliver top-of-the-line cloud infrastructure, you’ll: Design, build and operate cloud infrastructure on GCP and AWS, covering networking, compute, storage, and managed services, with security, reliability, and cost efficiency built in. Codify everything with Terraform using reusable modules, remote state, and automated plan/apply pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions), with peer review for every change. Partner with the Data Team to deliver the internal infrastructure behind our data platform, creating secure, self-service environments for storage, pipelines, and analytics using services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub. Drive our move from AWS to GCP by assessing workloads, mapping services, and executing migrations with clear cutover and rollback plans. You’ll also decommission infrastructure we no longer need. Build security in from day one through least-privilege IAM, workload identity, secrets and key management, network segmentation, encryption, and policy-as-code guardrails across both clouds. Automate repetitive work with scripting in Python, Bash, or Go, while keeping documentation, runbooks, and architecture decisions up to date. Keep our platforms observable and resilient through monitoring, logging and alerting, backup and disaster recovery, incident response, and continuous cost optimization. EXAMPLES OF PROJECTS YOU MIGHT MANAGE Migrating selected workloads from AWS to GCP. For example, moving data from Amazon S3 to Cloud Storage and re-platforming services onto GKE, with minimal downtime. Building a secure GCP landing zone in Terraform: resource hierarchy, shared VPC networking, IAM, organization policies, and centralized logging. Delivering self-service infrastructure for the Data Team: Terraform modules and templates that let them spin up compliant environments quickly and consistently. Implementing centralized secrets management with Google Secret Manager and AWS Secrets Manager. Designing backup and disaster recovery strategies across clouds and running regular failover tests. Building observability dashboards and alerting (e.g., Grafana, Datadog) for platform health, cost, and security posture. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR The essentials 4+ years of experience in Cloud, Platform, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering, working with production environments. Strong hands-on experience with GCP and AWS , with deep expertise in at least one of them. Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code. A solid understanding of cloud security , including IAM, network security, encryption, and secrets management. Good knowledge of cloud networking and Linux . Experience with scripting or programming in Python, Bash, or Go . Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical topics clearly. Nice to have Experience with cloud migrations, especially from AWS to GCP. Experience with data platforms and services such as BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, or Airflow. Familiarity with Azure or Cloudflare. Relevant cloud or infrastructure certifications, such as Google Cloud, AWS, Terraform, or Kubernetes certifications. YOU'LL THRIVE HERE IF YOU Like taking ownership, from shaping a solution to seeing it work in production. Enjoy collaborating and turning different needs into practical, scalable solutions. Are curious and pragmatic, and enjoy finding the right balance between doing things properly and getting things done. Like sharing what you know and learning from the people around you.
