Cloud Native Customer Engineer
the opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge Kubernetes and cloud-native storage technology for enterprise customers across ANZ, alongside a regional bench of Delivery Architects, Solution Architects, and a growing network of Certified Delivery Partners. WHAT YOU'LL DO Design and Architecture Support Partner with Portworx Delivery/Solution Architects to support design and architecture workshops, gathering customer technical requirements and documenting the as-is technical environment Identify key customer integration points with Kubernetes, storage, and backup solutions Assist in documenting design decisions, including storage/backup workflows, high availability and disaster recovery configurations, scalability plans, and networking/security considerations Understand prospects' and customers' technical needs related to their Cloud Native Kubernetes deployments and translate them into actionable implementation plans Deployment and Operations Design, install, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters and Portworx-based solutions using best practices, Kubernetes manifests, and Helm charts Deploy and operate Portworx solutions (Enterprise, PX-Backup, PX-DR) across customer Kubernetes environments (OpenShift, Rancher, VKS, or other orchestrators), on-prem and in the cloud Ensure Portworx is correctly configured against underlying storage platforms (FlashArray, FlashBlade, or other equivalent storage layers) and optimized for performance, scale, and reliability Lead API/microservices solution deployment and day-2 operations, including monitoring via Prometheus/Grafana/other Observability and alerting best practices Support CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code workflows (Jenkins, GitOps, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet) relevant to Portworx delivery Customer Support and Enablement Act as the initial point of contact for Portworx support case (break/fix) inquiries and Request for Enhancement (RFE) requests within the account/region Collaborate with Portworx Support and Product Engineering teams to provide an excellent customer experience and drive timely issue resolution Support customers through validation and testing of changes prior to production implementation, remediating issues identified during testing Provide knowledge transfer and training sessions to customer teams to support ongoing Portworx operations Maintain clear, ongoing communication with customer stakeholders and the Everpure delivery team on project status, risks, and outcomes Delivery and Collaboration Work within Everpure's Advanced Services delivery methodology, supporting Delivery/Solution Architects and Project Managers through the full engagement lifecycle Collaborate with Certified Delivery Partners and customer/vendor teams (e.g., system integrators, platform teams) as part of a coordinated delivery effort Contribute field experience back into repeatable procedures, runbooks, and templates to standardize delivery and improve quality across engagements WHAT YOU BRING Experience 10+ years of hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting production Kubernetes environments; experience building and operating containerized solutions Proven experience with DevOps practices and a strong understanding of the cloud-native technology landscape Experience supporting enterprise customers directly, including comfort working on customer sites/production environments and communicating technical progress clearly Due to the requirements of possible Australian Government projects, the success candidate must hold, or be eligible to obtain, an Australian Government security clearance at the required level. The candidate must also have the right to work in Australia. Technical Skills In-depth experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Kubernetes environments; proficiency with at least one of OpenShift, Rancher, Mirantis, or other orchestrators Familiarity with other container orchestration platforms. Linux system administration experience (RHEL, SLES, Debian, Ubuntu) Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing) Software-defined storage concepts (NFS, Block, iSCSI) and understanding of open-source databases/modern data platforms supporting highly available business applications CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitOps, Argo, Airflow) and Configuration Management/Infrastructure-as-Code tooling (Terraform, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible) Working knowledge of cloud IaaS environments such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery, and object storage management in cloud and on-prem environments Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent experience Desirable Additional Skills and Certifications Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) and/or CKAD qualification, or equivalent hands-on experience Scripting skills (Bash, Python, Ruby) Virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware) and version control systems (Git, SVN) Monitoring and logging tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) Security fundamentals (SSL/TLS, Kubernetes Secrets, RBAC) Experience with the OpenStorage SDK (REST and gRPC interfaces) Experience with HA deployments for modern scale-out databases and data processing solutions (Cassandra, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Elasticsearch) Cloud or Portworx-related certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Pure Certified Portworx Enterprise Professional) Soft Skills Attention to detail and strong troubleshooting discipline in complex, high-pressure environments Comfortable consulting on customer sites related to complex solutions Strong, clear communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders Adaptability and a proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving Logistics Must be eligible to work in Australia; based in Sydney with willingness to travel to customer sites across ANZ as needed up to 30% Contract engagement, with scope and duration aligned to Everpure's Portworx APJ delivery roadmap WHAT
