Company Description Customs Operations Europe and Africa region in Älmhult, Sweden consists of approximately 47 co-workers. The department includes a dedicated team of Customs Compliance Specialists, alongside operational customs teams, working together to secure well-functioning import and export processes for more than 30 countries in the region. We provide daily support and coordination on customs-related topics, including legal requirements, goods flow, and IT solutions, to secure availability, affordability, and compliance. Job Description The Customs Compliance Specialist ensures the efficiency and compliance of the import and export activities in their region and for the countries assigned to their region. In conjunction with the Customs Compliance Manager, establish and maintain Compliance procedures and working methods associated with areas of responsibility Lead and coordinate customs classification activities within the assigned area of responsibility, ensuring accurate tariff classification, compliance, and alignment with business needs. Build strategic relationships with internal and external business partners, including Customs or other Government agencies Work with Finance, Accounting, Transport and Purchasing partners on compliance issues Maintain regulatory knowledge and analysis skills as business, regulations or systems change to meet the business needs Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as assigned Qualifications We are now looking for a new colleague who wants to be a part of our amazing team. You should be: Comfortable with working and navigating in digital IT solutions Fluent in English, both written and verbal We believe that you have: Demonstrated knowledge of Customs Import/Export regulations and compliance management Solid knowledge and practical experience in customs classification (tariff classification) and related processes, including the application of customs regulations and maintenance of classification data. Experience and knowledge of Change Management Good listening skills and strong ability to document and communicate in a clear way Ability to build efficiencies and compliance into operations while meeting the business needs Previous experience in working with external authorities Additional information Please note this position is based in Älmhult, Sweden.
