Cybersecurity Engineer Seniority Level: Senior Location: Luleå (SE) Remote Work: 0% Assignment Period: Oct 1, 2026 – May 2, 2027 Extent: 100% Languages: Swedish and English Assignment Description Our client is an international industrial group that develops and maintains software, firmware, and hardware solutions for condition monitoring within industry. Their IoT solutions provide detailed health information and actionable insights into customers' machinery, helping to predict failures and prevent downtime. The company is now combining its experience with the latest technology in a major new initiative: developing the next-generation condition monitoring ecosystem. The Cybersecurity Test Engineer role involves protecting the organization's products from cyber threats through test design and implementation, ultimately enhancing digital product security and the company's ability to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with and support an existing Cybersecurity Test Engineer in designing and implementing up-to-date strategies for robust product testing in accordance with cybersecurity standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities Design and implement security test systems Integrate security testing into product development and perform vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and security scanning of products Be responsible for the test laboratory equipment Maintain the test rig equipment Test for security breaches by regularly assessing products and systems for breaches or intrusions; detect intrusions and conduct thorough investigations into how they occurred Report test results; in the event of a security gap, lead incident-response activities and conduct technical and forensic investigations into how the breach occurred and the extent of the damage Conduct regular system tests and risk assessments to ensure systems operate efficiently and remain protected from potential threats Develop company-wide best practices for security testing and educate colleagues on security software and effective ways to protect their products Support customer-facing activities during development, when required Requirements A university degree, preferably in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field Proven experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer, Test Engineer, or in a similar role Knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity risks associated with digital product security and related technologies Knowledge of testing tools, technologies, and methods Experience with network security protocols, security architecture, and IP networking A self-motivated, driven, and action-oriented mindset with a strong sense of personal accountability An open mindset and experience in agile development Ability to communicate clearly and confidently in English Willingness to travel occasionally, if required for specific activities Preferred Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely Strong attention to detail and a keen interest in staying up to date with the latest technologies and cybersecurity threats Knowledge of product security standards such as EN 18031 and IEC 62443 At least three to five years of experience testing embedded systems Solid programming experience in C, C++, and/or Python Experience with Embedded Linux and Yocto Tools & Technologies Linux/Yocto C, C++, and Python Cybersecurity ADO, Git, and GitHub Wi-Fi, BLE, LTE, Ethernet, eMMC, and wireless mesh networks MQTT, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, U-Boot, and over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates
