Cybersecurity Test Engineer
Assignment Description SKF is spearheading the green transition in the bearing industry. Here in the north, we develop and maintain software, firmware, and hardware solutions for industry within the field of condition monitoring, supporting this green transition. Our IoT solutions provide detailed health information and actionable insights into our customers’ machinery, helping to predict failures and prevent downtime. We are now combining our experience with the latest technology in our next major initiative: developing the next-generation condition monitoring ecosystem. The Cybersecurity Test Engineer will be responsible for protecting the organization’s products from cyber threats through test design and implementation, ultimately enhancing digital product security and our ability to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements. This role involves working closely with and supporting our existing Cybersecurity Test Engineer in designing and implementing up-to-date strategies for robust product testing in accordance with cybersecurity standards and regulations. Key responsibilities (or what you can expect in the role) for the full scope of the contract Design and implement security test systems. Integrate security testing into product development and perform vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and security scanning of our products. Be responsible for the test laboratory equipment. Maintain the test rig equipment. Test for security breaches by regularly assessing our products and systems for breaches or intrusions. Detect intrusions and conduct thorough investigations into how they occurred. Report test results. In the event of a security gap, lead incident-response activities and conduct technical and forensic investigations into how the breach occurred and the extent of the damage. Conduct regular system tests and risk assessments to ensure that the organization’s systems operate efficiently and remain protected from potential threats. Develop company-wide best practices for security testing and educate colleagues about security software and effective ways to protect their products. Support customer-facing activities during development, when required. Requirements (or We expect you to have/be) • A university degree, preferably in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field. • Proven experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer, Test Engineer, or in a similar role. • Knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity risks associated with digital product security and related technologies. • Knowledge of testing tools, technologies, and methods. • Experience with network security protocols, security architecture, and IP networking. • A self-motivated, driven, and action-oriented mindset, with a strong sense of personal accountability. • An open mindset and experience in agile development. • The ability to communicate clearly and confidently in English. • Willingness to travel occasionally, if required for specific activities. Preferred • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely. • Strong attention to detail and a keen interest in staying up to date with the latest technologies and cybersecurity threats. • Knowledge of product security standards, such as EN 18031 and IEC 62443. • At least three to five years of experience testing embedded systems. • Solid programming experience in C, C++, and/or Python. • Experience with Embedded Linux and Yocto.
