As we continue to expand, we are looking for a skilled Data Center Technician to join our team and play a vital role in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting data center infrastructure across Sweden and the broader Scandinavian region. The role As a Data Centre Technician at Diginext Sweden AB, you will be responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of critical data centre and network infrastructure. Your work will include structured copper and fibre-optic cabling, rack-and-stack activities, equipment installation, testing, documentation, and technical support. You will work closely with project managers, team leaders, clients, and other contractors to ensure all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The role involves working at various project sites with flexibility required for travel, shift work, and weekends. Main responsibilities Install, terminate, label and test copper (Cat6, Cat6A) and fibre-optic cabling. Carry out fibre splicing, patching and testing using OTDR and optical power meters. Certify copper cabling using Fluke test equipment and record test results accurately. Install racks, cabinets, patch panels, cable management systems and containment. Carry out rack-and-stack installation of servers, switches, routers and other network equipment. Perform hardware upgrades, replacements, decommissioning and equipment relocations. Troubleshoot cabling, connectivity, network hardware and infrastructure faults. Work from technical drawings, cable schedules, method statements and project instructions. Maintain accurate installation records, test reports, asset information and project documentation. Comply with data centre access controls, security policies and change management procedures. Follow all health and safety requirements, including correct use of PPE and safe working practices. Provide remote-hands and on-site technical support when required. Coordinate with project managers, team leaders, clients and other contractors so that work is completed efficiently. Use power tools, hand tools, cable-pulling equipment and fibre-cleaning tools safely and correctly. Maintain tools, equipment and materials, and keep a clean and organised work area. Requirements Technical education in IT, telecommunications, networking, electrical engineering or a comparable field, or equivalent documented practical experience. Documented practical experience of copper and fibre-optic cabling installation, termination and testing. Working knowledge of network equipment, server hardware and data centre operations. Ability to work from technical drawings, cable schedules, work instructions and method statements. Working proficiency in Swedish or English, spoken and written, sufficient to follow written work instructions and safety documentation and to communicate on client sites. Driving licence category B. Availability for shift work, including night shifts, and for evening and weekend work when projects require it. Ability to carry out the physical tasks the role involves, including lifting equipment, pulling cables and working at height. Meritorious Experience of fibre splicing and testing with OTDR and optical power meters. Experience of copper cable certification with Fluke test equipment. Basic understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLANs, switches and routers. MEWP/lift certification (liftutbildning according to SS-ISO 18878) or working-at-height training. Certification in fibre-optic installation or structured cabling from a recognised manufacturer or industry body. Experience of working in secure or access-controlled environments. Works independently on assigned tasks while contributing effectively within a project team. Applies a methodical, solution-oriented approach to diagnosing and resolving technical faults. Maintains a dependable and professional standard of conduct on client premises, including punctuality and adherence to site rules and security procedures. Adapts readily to changing project requirements, locations and working hours. Communicates clearly and constructively with colleagues, clients and other contractors on site. Plans and prioritises own work to meet project deadlines and quality standards. Takes an active interest in developing skills in new technologies, tools and working methods.
