🔹 For our Client from pharmaceutical industry we are looking for Data Visualization Developer – Spotfire, R & Python 🔹 Location: 100% remotely About the role We are looking for a collaborative and communicative Visualization Specialist who can connect scientific questions, user needs, and technical solutions. A central part of the role is working closely with scientists and other stakeholders: listening to their needs, asking the right questions, explaining technical possibilities clearly, and translating complex requirements into intuitive visual solutions. You will design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and analytical applications, primarily using Spotfire. We also welcome candidates with experience in other visualization platforms—such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik—who are motivated to develop strong Spotfire expertise. The role combines stakeholder engagement, user-centered visualization design, and analytical scripting in R and Python. Previous experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or life sciences is highly desirable. Key responsibilities Build trusted relationships with scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their research questions, workflows, and decision-making needs. Facilitate requirement discussions and translate complex scientific and business needs into clear technical and visualization requirements. Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and analytical applications, primarily in Spotfire. Translate complex scientific and analytical data into clear, intuitive, and actionable visualizations. Develop and maintain R and Python data functions for data preparation, statistical analysis, modeling, and advanced visualization. Apply data visualization and user-experience best practices to create dashboards that are informative, accessible, and easy to use. Prepare, transform, validate, and integrate data from multiple sources. Optimize dashboard performance, data loading, usability, and maintainability. Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to dashboard users. Develop reusable visualization components and contribute to shared development standards. Collaborate with data engineering and IT teams on integration, security, access, and deployment. Stay informed about developments in data visualization, Spotfire, analytical programming, and scientific data analysis. Required qualifications Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with scientists, analysts, developers, and IT professionals with different levels of technical expertise. Experience gathering and translating user needs into practical, user-friendly analytical solutions. Experience designing and developing interactive dashboards in Spotfire or a comparable visualization platform such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik. Strong understanding of data visualization principles, dashboard usability, and visual communication. Experience using code (R and/or Python) for data preparation, analysis, statistical methods, or analytical application development. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with careful attention to data quality and detail. Curiosity and a willingness to understand scientific questions, data, and workflows. A relevant degree or equivalent practical experience in data science, computer science, statistics, bioinformatics, natural sciences, engineering, or a related area. Preferred qualifications A scientific background or previous experience working directly with scientists and research data. Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, APIs, or modern data platforms. Experience with statistical analysis or scientific computing. Familiarity with development practices such as version control, testing, code review, and technical documentation.
