Role Summary Customized solutions for trucks is an important and growing area where Scania aims to fulfil specific customer’s demands and to enter new segments and markets. The section ESM is responsible for the development of customized trucks in areas from alternative fuels and electrification to specialized applications such as mining, heavy haulage and fire trucks. Everything we do starts with a direct customer request. Job Responsibilities As a S-order designer you are not only developing a small part of the truck, you are building the whole truck to fulfil a certain customer demand. You are using the Scania structure and the modular system in creative ways to fulfil the demands. The extent of the tasks you will handle can vary from known adaptations where you can process several per day to new adaptations that require deeper and longer investigation. The spread in scope and complexity creates great possibilities for you to develop your competence. One of our key deliveries is to meet the customer demand quickly. Our S-order development process is therefore designed with focus on time to market without risking the quality. Who You Are We are now looking for a more senior engineer to join our team. You are a graduate engineer (or similar) and have experience from R&D. You are interested in seeing the broader picture and when needed dig into the details. Knowledge about our Scania products, the modular system and writing conditions in the structure is highly meriting. You are a person that takes initiative, enjoys learning new things and likes to work with varying tasks. You see the opportunities in given tasks and challenges. You are good at creating team spirit and have the ability to share experiences and information with your colleagues in a generous way. The work is both individual and collaborative which demand skills in communication and cooperation. One of our key deliveries is to meet the customer demand quickly, therefore you need to be comfortable working with sharp deadlines in a high pace. This is us Our group, ESML, is responsible for delivering customized solutions together in close collaboration with our production unit in Laxå. This gives you the opportunity to be part of a team that delivers unique customer solutions such as a low entry truck with a bus door, a truck with a unique axle configuration, trucks such as Longline and other unique configurations and specifications that our customers request.
