Development Engineer
For our client Tetra Pak we're looking for a Development Engineer . As a Development Engineer in the requested position at Tetra Pak, you will work as part of a scrum team in a broad role focusing primarily on practical testing within equipment development. We are looking for a person who enjoys being close to the equipment and the testing environment, someone who can bridge the gap between design and reality. The ideal candidate combines practical engineering know-how with analytical thinking and can assess whether a solution is functional, serviceable, user-friendly, and optimized for its intended purpose. Through hands-on testing, machine modifications, and close interaction with development teams, this person will provide valuable feedback that helps shape the next generation of filling solutions. Your daily tasks may include: Planning, preparing, rebuilding, and commissioning test equipment and test rigs. Driving practical development and verification activities for filling technologies and equipment. Executing physical tests and documenting results, observations, and recommendations. Supporting strategic investments and upgrades of filling equipment and development test environments. Defining test methods, test setups, and evaluation criteria for development activities. Troubleshooting equipment, test setups, and machine functionality during development programs. Collaborating with development teams to translate concepts into practical and testable solutions. Evaluating mechanical designs and providing feedback on: Functionality and performance Serviceability and maintainability User-friendliness and operator interaction Robustness and reliability Fitness for intended purpose Challenging and improving proposed design solutions from a practical engineering perspective. Contributing to verification and validation plans and ensuring timely execution of development tests Required skills: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar technical field. Strong practical hands-on engineering capabilities. Experience working with mechanical equipment, machinery development, testing, or commissioning. Experience in planning and executing physical tests and evaluations. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and mechanical designs. Structured approach to documenting test results and technical conclusions. Fluent in English, written and spoken. Preferred skills: Experience from food processing, filling equipment, packaging machinery, or related industries. Knowledge of Tetra Pak filling technologies and/or knowledge related to filling of liquid food products from other context. Experience with mechanical design review and constructive design feedback. Experience with machine rebuilds, installations, and commissioning. Understanding of product validation and verification activities. Knowledge of hygienic design principles. Experience of working with automation systems hands-on / operationally. Soft skills: Practical problem solver with a strong hands-on mindset, passionate about physical testing. Independent and proactive with the ability to drive activities forward. Curious and eager to understand how equipment performs in real-life operation. Able to challenge technical solutions in a constructive and professional way. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Team player who enjoys working across engineering disciplines. Pragmatic, adaptable, and results-oriented. Strong ownership mentality and focus on quality and safety.
