For our client we are looking for a Durability Analysis and Sensor Design Engineer - Wheel Suspension What you'll do: As a Durability Analysis and Sensor Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and application of sensors, primarily strain gauges, to measure forces in vehicles and test rigs. These measured forces are critical for calibrating and correlating CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) models and are also utilized as input signals for component or system testing in laboratory settings. Your responsibilities will also include performing strain and stress analyses on chassis systems and components to predict service life. This work will be conducted in collaboration with the other CAE engineers in the team and will involve providing recommendations to the design department to improve the durability of our vehicles. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and refinement of durability requirements, making this a central aspect of your role. The position requires working within a cross-functional and cross-organizational environment. In this role, you will engage with a combination of CAE, CAD (Computer-Aided Design), physical testing, and analytical methods. Key Responsibilities: 1. Sensor Design: - Lead the sensor design process, focusing on strain gauge applications. - Manage the entire workflow, from gathering input for sensor design to participating in the calibration of the final sensor. - Define testing needs, load ranges, and perform strength simulations. - Design both the physical components and sensors, ensuring optimal placement of strain gauges through detailed stress and strain analysis. - Plan and oversee sensor calibration to ensure accuracy and reliability. 2. Durability Analysis: - Provide stress and strain CAE simulations to support the project design phase. - Deliver recommendations to support programs or design concepts. - Conduct analysis to develop and establish durability requirements and targets. What you'll bring - MSc in Mechanical Engineering - Knowledge of Wheel Suspension design. - You must have documented knowledge and a few years of experience from of the durability domain - Experience of CAE tools Ansa, Abaqus, nCode and CAD tool CATIA - Broad knowledge of the vehicle design process. - You are experienced in writing requirements and technical guidelines. - This role requires a strong technical foundation, collaboration across disciplines, and the ability to balance theoretical modeling with hands-on testing and analysis to support both sensor design and durability engineering efforts. - Fluent in English (written and spoken) About you - Positive attitude and an open mind - You are self-propelled and take initiative and have leadership skills. - Strong problem-solving skills for unique challenges - Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex problems - Concise technical communication skills and the ability to align multiple stakeholders PLEASE NOTE!
