Key Responsibilities  Project Delivery  Deliver electrical engineering design packages for healthcare projects under the guidance of senior engineers and project leads.  Prepare and develop:  Electrical load assessments  Power distribution designs  Lighting and emergency lighting designs  Small power layouts  Earthing and bonding designs  Fire alarm, security, and ELV system layouts/concepts  Equipment schedules and technical specifications  Design calculations and engineering reports  Produce design documentation in line with project stage requirements, including concept, developed, technical, and construction design deliverables.  Coordinate with other disciplines including mechanical, public health, architecture, structural, and BIM teams.  Support design reviews, clash resolution, and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.  Ensure designs meet project brief, quality standards, programme, and cost targets.  UK-Specific Technical Delivery  Deliver work in accordance with relevant UK regulations, codes, and standards applicable to the project.  Support compliance with:  UK building regulations relevant to electrical services  BS 7671 requirements for electrical installations  CIBSE guidance and industry best practice  Emergency lighting and fire alarm design principles as applicable  Energy efficiency and sustainability requirements for UK developments  CDM design risk awareness and design safety considerations  Contribute to designs that are practical, buildable, safe, and maintainable for UK construction and operational contexts.  Consider UK authority, DNO/IDNO, utility, and statutory approval interfaces where relevant.  Design Management and Quality  Follow established QA/QC procedures and engineering check/review processes.  Perform self-checking of calculations, drawings, and reports before submission.  Support technical reviews and incorporate review comments in a timely manner.  Maintain proper document control and revision management.  Raise technical queries and risks proactively to senior engineers and project managers.  Digital Engineering / BIM  Work effectively within BIM and digital delivery environments for UK projects.  Review and support development of coordinated models and drawings using approved software platforms.  Extract and verify design information from BIM models where required.  Support data-driven and digitally enabled design workflows.  Collaboration and Communication  Communicate clearly with UK teams, project managers, discipline leads, and other stakeholders.  Participate in internal design meetings and client-facing discussions when required.  Support knowledge sharing across REC and Healthcare team.  Build effective working relationships across geography-based and multi-cultural teams.  Continuous Improvement  Contribute to standardisation, lessons learned, and reusable design approaches for HC project delivery.  Support development of templates, calculation sheets, specifications, and best-practice guidance.  Keep technical knowledge updated with UK engineering standards and market expectations.  Typical Technical Scope  Depending on the project, the role may include:  LV power distribution systems  Lighting and lighting controls  Emergency lighting systems  Small power systems  UPS and standby power interfaces  Earthing, bonding, and lightning protection coordination  Fire alarm system coordination  Security and ICT/ELV coordination  Containment and cable routing concepts  Plant room and riser electrical layouts  Sustainable and energy-conscious design solutions  Expected Level of Contribution   At this level, the Electrical Engineer is expected to:  Independently deliver defined portions of electrical design work.  Apply sound engineering judgment to routine and moderately complex tasks.  Work with limited supervision on assigned deliverables.  Coordinate effectively with internal teams and highlight issues early.  Support and guide junior engineers/designers for specific tasks where needed.  Demonstrate accountability for quality, timeliness, and technical accuracy of own work.  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.  Master’s degree is advantageous but not essential.  Progress toward professional membership or chartership is desirable.  Experience  Typically 4–7 years of relevant electrical building services / infrastructure design experience, with exposure to UK projects preferred.  Experience working in a design consultancy, engineering services environment, or global delivery centre supporting UK teams.  Familiarity with multidisciplinary project delivery and design coordination.  Experience in preparing technical documentation, reports, specifications, and calculations.  Technical Competencies  The candidate should demonstrate working knowledge of:  Electrical design principles for building services / project infrastructure  Power distribution and load calculations  Lighting design principles  Cable sizing and protection concepts  Earthing and bonding principles  Basic understanding of fire alarm, ELV, and life safety systems coordination  UK project stages and design deliverables  Design safety and constructability considerations  Engineering documentation and specification writing  Software Skills  Proficiency in some or most of the following is desirable:  Revit / BIM tools  AutoCAD  Dialux / Relux or equivalent lighting software  Electrical calculation tools such as Amtech / Trimble / similar  Microsoft Office applications
