Engineering Manager - Simulation within Autonomous Technologies
Want to be part of transforming road freight? Einride is showing the world a new way to move, based on the latest digital, autonomous and electric technologies. We build the technology that hauls freight efficiently, and we put it to work for the world's leading manufacturers, retailers, logistics providers and defense organizations, all working toward a future where moving goods costs less for our customers, and less for the planet. Founded in 2016, Einride became the first company in the world to deploy a cab-less autonomous electric vehicle on a public road (Sweden, 2019). In 2022, we were the first to successfully operate such a vehicle on a U.S. public road. In June 2026, Einride became a publicly listed company on Nasdaq, a milestone that reflects a decade of turning what once looked like science fiction into everyday reality. Today, our technology moves freight across North America, Europe, and the Middle East for some of the world's biggest shippers. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Simulation team. Your mission is to make simulation the primary way Einride develops and validates its autonomous driving system, in a future where the driving stack is heavily ML-driven. Your team builds and operates the simulation infrastructure the whole organization depends on: the platforms, tooling, compute, and pipelines that let ML, planning, and controls engineers iterate quickly, and that give V&V a foundation they can trust. You will set the technical direction for that infrastructure, decide where to build and where to partner, and grow the team's depth in core simulation as we scale our capabilities for our next-generation vehicle. You will: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team focused on simulation infrastructure and platform engineering. Architect, scale, and operate the closed-loop simulation platform and pipelines that let teams across the organization author scenarios, run high-fidelity sensor models, and execute SIL and HIL testing, with the reliability and throughput development and V&V depend on. Set the technical direction for the simulation stack: evaluate and integrate commercial, open-source, and in-house components, make build-vs-partner decisions, and prepare the architecture for ML-driven approaches such as neural reconstruction and generative world models. Treat simulation as an internal product: gather requirements from your users, prioritize the roadmap, and measure success by adoption, iteration speed, and trust in results. Build the tooling and data flows that connect virtual testing with real-world vehicle testing, so teams can compare, correlate, and trace results across both. Lead the engineering team and the wider organization through the transition toward simulation-driven development. Collaborate closely with cross-functional leadership across Perception, Motion Planning & Control, Systems Engineering, and Verification & Validation (V&V). We expect you to have: Proven track record of building and leading teams delivering platform/infra products in autonomous driving, robotics, or complex safety-critical domains. Solid understanding of closed-loop simulation for dev/validation, including fidelity trade-offs (scenario, object, and sensor level). Hands-on experience with large-scale sim infrastructure (cloud/on-prem orchestration, CI/CD, data pipelines, containerization). Familiarity with modern ML-driven simulation/eval (neural reconstruction, generative world models, real-world data replay). User-centric approach to internal teams, prioritizing roadmaps based on impact and navigating build-vs-partner decisions. Strong capability to guide technical experts and foster excellence across organizational boundaries Meriting experience: Hands-on experience with autonomous-driving or robotics simulation platforms, for example NVIDIA's simulation ecosystem (AlpaSim, NuRec, Cosmos, Omniverse) or comparable commercial and open-source tools. Experience running simulation at scale, such as GPU compute orchestration, large batch and replay workloads in CI/CD, and optimizing for throughput and cost. Experience leading teams that build simulation infrastructure or internal developer platforms, serving both development and V&V users. Background in autonomous vehicles, robotics, aerospace, or another safety-critical domain. This is a full-time position based in Stockholm or Gothenburg. We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible since selection and interviews are held continually. Please note that as part of our standard recruitment process, we conduct a background control on the final candidate for this role. This may include verification of education, employment history, any relevant professional certifications or other information that may be of our interest.
