Engineering Project Manager – Supplier Qualification | Consulting assignment in energy WeQuel is now looking for an Engineering Project Manager in Finspång, acting as R&D Technical Representative within Product & Process Qualification. You play a key role in ensuring that suppliers have the technical capabilities to manufacture gas turbine components with high quality, performance and delivery precision. You are the technical interface between Engineering, Procurement, Quality and internal and external suppliers. This is a newly established role, created to strengthen supplier qualification and technical development across a global supply chain. You work in a cross-functional team with colleagues from the Compressor, Turbine, Combustion and Materials Laboratory disciplines, while being organisationally affiliated with one of these departments. Your responsibilities: - Represent the R&D organisation in the qualification and development of new and existing suppliers, ensuring that technical requirements, drawings, specifications and process requirements are understood and implemented - Perform technical evaluations, audits and capability assessments of suppliers worldwide - Collaborate with Procurement, Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure robust supplier solutions - Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, product quality and supplier performance - Contribute to the development of methods, processes and strategies for supplier qualification Requirements: - B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related field - Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, technical drawings and industrial quality requirements - Experience from a technical role related to manufacturing, quality, engineering or suppliers - Analytical and structured, able to translate technical requirements into practical solutions - Fluent Swedish and English, verbally and in writing - Driven and communicative, enjoys building relationships and achieving results together with others Meritorious: - Experience in supplier development - Experience of welding, machining, casting or other manufacturing processes About the team: You will be part of a component department (Compressor, Combustion or Turbine) with approximately 60–100 employees, where design engineering groups typically comprise around 20 engineers. The teams design and develop gas turbine components in an open and collaborative environment where questions, teamwork and continuous learning are encouraged.
