Equipment Engineer – Robotics
We are looking for an experienced Equipment Engineer – Robotics to support the implementation and commissioning of robotic equipment within a Body Shop environment. This is not a robot programming role. We are looking for someone with strong hands-on robotics experience who can ensure that robots and related technologies are implemented according to the required standards, while actively driving suppliers and Line Builders towards successful delivery. Key Responsibilities Ensure that robotic equipment and related functional packages are implemented according to Volvo standards and project requirements. Work closely with Line Builders, suppliers and FANUC to drive the implementation and resolve technical issues. Follow up on open issues, identify risks and ensure that corrective actions are defined and implemented quickly. Oversee the installation, commissioning and verification of robotic equipment. Ensure smooth integration between robots and the associated process technologies, not only the robot itself. Support and coordinate the implementation of technologies such as: Spot welding Gluing Flow drill Self-Piercing Riveting (SPR) Troubleshoot technical issues and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions together with suppliers, FANUC and Line Builders. Monitor equipment performance and support activities aimed at achieving high availability, stability and uptime. Participate in technical discussions and help ensure that robotic and process equipment meets the required standards. Provide technical support during the TT build phase, when the Body Shop will be run for the first time at full production speed. Requirements Strong hands-on experience with industrial robotics, ideally FANUC. Solid understanding of robot standards, installation, commissioning and integration. Experience working with Line Builders, equipment suppliers and/or robot manufacturers. Understanding of Body Shop technologies and their integration with robotic systems is a strong advantage. Strong technical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify issues, drive corrective actions and push suppliers towards solutions. Strong ownership and a proactive, hands-on approach. Ability to work independently and effectively coordinate multiple stakeholders. Good communicative English is essential. What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is a technically strong robotics professional who is comfortable being hands-on, challenging suppliers when necessary and taking ownership of open technical topics. You should be able to look at the complete process, understand how the robot interacts with the surrounding technology, identify potential problems and drive them to resolution. You will play an important role in ensuring that the robotic systems are implemented correctly and that the Body Shop can achieve a stable and reliable full-speed operation.
