About the Role: The Experience Design Lead (Creative Director) is the vision-holder for how fans interact with the future of EA SPORTS, reporting to the Sr. Director of EA SPORTS Network. Serving as the design and user-experience anchor of the Network leadership team, this leader is responsible for transforming complex, shared platform and network capabilities into intuitive, memorable, and high-fidelity consumer experiences. Rather than focusing on a single franchise or product, this role defines the design principles, reusable experience systems, and connected fan journeys that weave individual games (such as Madden NFL, FC, and College Football) into a cohesive, immersive EA SPORTS ecosystem. This role will be a visionary design leader who can establish and scale the Experience Design function for SPORTS Network, instill a design-centric culture across the team, and champion design innovation in partnership with studios and design partners within EA SPORTS. Your Responsibilities: Experience Strategy: Ecosystem Experience Vision: Define the long-term, multi-platform vision for a connected EA SPORTS experiences, spanning console, mobile, web, and companion applications. Consumer-First Design Principles: Translate strategic growth objectives into high-caliber consumer experience principles that put the fan journey at the center. Ecosystem Roadmaps: Author and drive long-term experience design roadmaps that anticipate and support future portfolio growth and platform capabilities. Connected Fan Experiences: Unified Journeys: Map and refine end-to-end fan journeys that connect multiple EA SPORTS experiences, standardizing how identity, personalization, recognition, commerce, and community are experienced. Scalable Design Systems: Establish, govern, and continuously evolve scalable design systems, UI/UX toolkits, and reusable interaction models across the portfolio. Preserve Franchise Identity: Balance the need for network-wide experience consistency with the unique, highly branded visual identity of individual sports franchises. Cross-Functional Leadership: The Leadership Triad: Partner directly with the Sr. Director of Product Management and Technical Director to build a user-centered development lifecycle where design, technology, and business goals align. Experience Workshops: Lead collaborative experience workshops and build alignment around shared consumer experiences across different team boundaries. Influence without Authority: Guide design direction and build consensus across disparate teams, studios, and brand partners through collaboration rather than direct authority. Experience Innovation & Data Informed Design: Emerging Interactions: Explore and prototype next-generation interaction models, including AI-enabled personalization, spatial design, and real-time sports feed integrations. Data-Informed Iteration: leverage user research, player data, and run experience design workflows to continuously iterate and elevate experiences. Your Qualifications: Experience: 10+ years of experience leading UX, Product Design, Experience Design, or Creative Direction for world-class, large-scale digital consumer ecosystems or entertainment products. Ecosystem Design: A strong portfolio demonstrating the creation of unified, multi-platform design systems and seamless consumer journeys across web, mobile, and console. Experience leveraging AI in prototyping and creative or design concepting. Strategic Execution: Proven ability to balance high-level creative strategy with operational execution and governance. Tooling & Workflows: Mastery of Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, advanced prototyping tools, and modern collaborative design workflows. Storytelling: Exceptional executive storytelling, visual communication, and presentation skills, with a track record of building alignment through influence. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Media, or equivalent experience.
