Founding Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE This is a founding engineering position at an early-stage enterprise AI startup building automation tools that help teams offload repetitive, screen-based workflows to AI. You'll work closely with customers and the founding team to shape both product direction and core technical infrastructure — with real ownership from day one. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build and ship product features end-to-end for enterprise customers. - Design and implement data pipelines to convert and aggregate large volumes of video and other unstructured data into a data lake. - Integrate LLM and VLM pipelines into production product workflows. - Develop full-stack components using Python and FastAPI. - Collaborate directly with enterprise customers (including PE portfolio company teams) to map processes and identify automation opportunities. - Enable scalable integrations to support land-and-expand customer strategies. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 3+ years of full-stack engineering experience building and shipping production systems. - Hands-on experience building production-ready RESTful APIs with FastAPI in scalable systems — this is a must. - Proven experience integrating, fine-tuning, and deploying LLMs and/or VLMs in production pipelines. - Strong Python proficiency for production environments. - Experience designing and implementing data pipelines for large volumes of unstructured video data, including video processing and analytics workflows. - Prior early-stage startup experience with direct involvement in product and technical decisions. - Comfort working directly with enterprise customers to understand and solve process challenges. - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, infrastructure, and deployment. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; thrives in small, cross-functional teams. - Bonus: experience with data lake architecture and scalable API design for customer integrations. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS - Salary: €80,000 – €120,000 per year - Equity: Meaningful founding-level equity - Visa sponsorship: Available LOCATION On-site in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.
