Fullstack AI Engineer

We are now looking for a Fullstack AI Engineer on the behalf of our client. Background: Retail Concept Operations organisation delivers digital capabilities for areas delivering the IKEA retail concept to IKEA retailers. The core deliverables are IKEA.net, IKEA.com, Skapa digital design system, Visa digital retail experience, MyLearning and IKEA Knowledge graph. The assignment is in the digital product area “Concept. Franchise and Expansion,” and the product is the “IKEA Retail Review”. IKEA retail reviews follow up on the implementation of the IKEA Concept and how we operate across different customer meeting points in an omnichannel environment. The reviews help us to find opportunities and strengths to build on and identify growth potential. The assignment covers full-stack; both front-end and back-end, and solution architecture, and continuing the solution design and software development for an IKEA concept review tool, as the MVP of the product is complete. The engineer needs to embrace a forward-looking, collaborative mindset, seeing agentic ways of working as an opportunity to fundamentally evolve how Product, Engineering and UX work together, from exploring ideas and rapidly building prototypes to creating agents and new capabilities across traditional role boundaries. They should actively enable and encourage others to experiment, build, and learn, with the belief that the future is about shared capability, faster learning and co-creation. The core requirements of the candidate: strong practical experience in several of the following areas is required Agent architecture and agent design patterns Tool/function calling Agent orchestration and workflow management Multi-agent systems Agent state and memory management Planning and reasoning patterns Human-in-the-loop workflows Agent evaluation and testing Guardrails and responsible AI controls Agent tracing and observability Model Context Protocol (MCP) and/or equivalent agent-tool integration approaches Secure integration between agents and enterprise systems Production deployment and operation of agentic applications.
