We are now looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer on the behalf of our client. Background: Retail Concept Operations delivers digital capabilities for areas that take the IKEA retail concept to IKEA retailers. Core deliverables include IKEA.net, IKEA.com, the SKAPA digital design system, Store Planning and Optimisation, the VISA digital retail experience, MyLearning, and the IKEA Knowledge graph. The Merchandise & Commercial Planning team is responsible for the ways of working and tools that enable more than 8,000 coworkers across our stores worldwide to plan and design our physical customer meeting points. We are building a Digital Hub that will become the starting point for all store planning. A place where coworkers can begin their planning journey, find inspiration from how others have designed their spaces, and get a clear overview of their own store performance and setup. At the heart of this hub: Interactive 3D layouts that bring store plans to life Relevant data and insights to support better decisions A seamless experience that connects inspiration, planning, and execution Why this assignment: FY27 carries forward with a new Hub and commercial insight: a live entry point to the Global Product Collage solution, commercial-layout analytics, and compiling planning data that today sits in siloed systems. Hub features do not split cleanly into frontend tickets and backend tickets. Solution gallery, solution landing pages, GPC entry, CMS-driven content, and insight views all require one person who can take a vertical slice — OpenAPI / BFF, data flow, and SKAPA React UI — without waiting on a specialist hand-off. That is the gap this assignment fills. This work is central to securing IIG ownership of the end-to-end commercial planning process and commercial planning data, regardless of which tools are used to plan store solutions. Assignment focus: The full-stack engineer will work in the existing Digital Hub team, alongside the frontend and backend engineers, and is expected to: Deliver production-ready Hub capabilities as vertical slices (API or integration through to user-facing UI). Connect planning tools, headless CMS content, and performance / commercial-insight data into one coherent coworker experience. Collaborate with product, UX, and specialists (GPC, Revit / Autodesk, 3D content) so the Hub stays the planning entry point rather than another disconnected tool. Requirements: The full-stack engineer is to be knowledgeable in both sides of the stack below — not frontend-titled with light API consumption, and not backend-titled with occasional UI. Recent, demonstrable delivery on each side is required. Core requirements of the candidate: A team player who will put the work in to build a user-friendly, production-ready planning entry point, and who can also own the integrations behind it. Genuine full-stack range: comfortable shipping React / TypeScript UI and Node.js / OpenAPI services in the same assignment. Good knowledge of the web landscape, consuming and producing REST / OpenAPI services, and component-driven UI / design systems. Understands information flow between systems. We need a clean solution and someone who can adapt to the architecture already taking shape and build upon it — not replace it. Works with product and UX to find optimal solutions and adapt to end-user needs (in-store Interior Designers and commercial-planning coworkers). Frontend: React and TypeScript CSS and Styled Components State management Figma and UX-driven development Component-driven UI and design systems (SKAPA or comparable) Accessibility (WCAG) Build tooling and performance Backend and integrations: Node.js / TypeScript backend-for-frontend (Java or C# as additional languages is welcome) REST API design and documentation (OpenAPI / Swagger) Headless CMS (e.g. Contentful) Database technologies and SQL (e.g. PostgreSQL) Schema validation Platform, security, and ways of working: Platform and security Experience working with cloud-hosted applications and containerised environments Understanding of authentication, authorisation and secure application design Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and modern engineering practices Bonus / nice-to-have: Experience with 3D visualisation technologies (Three.js, React Three Fiber, Autodesk APS or similar) Experience with headless CMS solutions and dynamic page rendering Experience working with AI-assisted solutions and integrations Familiarity with event-driven architectures and observability tooling Experience from retail planning, commercial planning or IKEA environments Start: ASAP Duration: 2027-08-31 (possibility for extension) Workload: 100% Location: Malmö (needs to be onsite at least 3 days/week) We will present candidates on an ongoing basis, so if interested please don´t hesitate to apply!
