GCP Data Platform Engineer

About the Role You will help build and evolve a scalable data platform in Google Cloud Platform, with a strong focus on reliability, automation, security, and cost efficiency. In this role, you work closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to make sure data is available, well-structured, and ready to support data-driven work across the organization. This assignment sits at the intersection of platform engineering, data infrastructure, and DevOps. You will play an important role in shaping how the platform is designed, deployed, and operated, using modern tools such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, and dbt. It is a strong opportunity for you if you enjoy combining cloud engineering with practical data platform challenges. Job Description You design, build, and manage scalable data platforms in GCP. You implement and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform. You automate deployment flows and platform workflows with GitHub Actions. You work with data modelling and data transformation using dbt. You collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to secure high data availability and quality. You monitor and optimize data pipelines for performance and cost efficiency. You help ensure that the platform meets security and compliance requirements. You troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data infrastructure and platform operations. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or in a similar role. Strong expertise in GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Workflows, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow. Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform. Experience with CI/CD tools, particularly GitHub Actions. Experience with dbt for data transformation. Solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices. Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or similar languages. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Fluent Swedish and English.
