HPE NonStop Infrastructure Engineer

For our client, we are looking for an experienced HPE NonStop Infrastructure Engineer with deep technical expertise in HPE NonStop environments. The consultant will join a small, highly skilled team and take an important role in ensuring stable and secure day-to-day operations, while also supporting and executing an upcoming lifecycle management initiative for the NonStop platform. Location: Stockholm Start: October 1, 2026 / ASAP as agreed End: December 31, 2026 Workload: 100% Scope: Approx. 520 hours The Assignment The consultant will be responsible for maintaining a stable, secure and high-performing HPE NonStop environment and will act as a senior technical SME within the team. A key part of the assignment will be an upcoming lifecycle initiative, including assessment of the current platform, planning and execution of upgrades and modernization activities, and minimizing operational risk throughout the transition. Responsibilities Monitor, maintain and optimize the HPE NonStop environment Manage incidents, troubleshoot complex issues and perform root cause analysis Perform system administration, configuration, patching and upgrades Install, configure and maintain HPE NonStop systems and related components Manage system resources including CPU, storage, networking and I/O Ensure compliance with operational and security standards Assess the current platform and identify end-of-life components Plan and execute system upgrades and lifecycle activities Ensure compatibility across hardware, operating systems and applications Support strategic decisions regarding the future direction of the platform Minimize risk and downtime during lifecycle transitions Produce technical documentation and support knowledge transfer within the team Proactively identify opportunities to improve performance, stability and resilience Required Competencies We are looking for a senior specialist with: Extensive hands-on experience with HPE/HP NonStop systems Deep knowledge of NonStop OS and system architecture Strong experience with system upgrades, patching and lifecycle management Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning capabilities Experience working in mission-critical, high-availability environments Ability to independently drive technical tasks from start to completion Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly Experience working in small teams with a high degree of individual responsibility The consultant is expected to be self-sufficient, proactive and comfortable taking ownership , while actively collaborating and sharing knowledge with the rest of the team.
