Integration Specialist

Assignment description We are looking for a Platform Engineer to build, operate and continuously improve integration and platform capabilities used by multiple development teams. The role focuses on platform stability, automation, self-service and end-to-end operational responsibility, with a strong focus on Kafka cluster and HiveMQ administration. You will help ensure reliable, scalable and secure platform operations while automating related management tasks and supporting development teams when needed. In this role, you will design, deploy and maintain multi-cluster and multi-region Apache Kafka environments on Kubernetes, as well as enterprise HiveMQ MQTT brokers. You will manage platform upgrades, patching, scaling, resource allocation, observability, security and disaster recovery to ensure high availability and performance. You will work with Kafka Connectors, Schema Registries, ACLs, authentication, mTLS, RBAC, ingress routing and API Manager integrations. The role also includes building observability pipelines with Prometheus and Grafana, setting up proactive alerting, performing root cause analysis and providing Tier 3 support for complex integration issues. You will act as a technical subject matter expert for development teams, provide guidance on Java/Spring Boot integration patterns and build reusable CI/CD pipelines, self-service tooling and documentation. You will also handle incident, problem and change management at platform level and work closely with security, architecture and development teams. Qualifications: Platform & Cloud You have 4–6 years of experience with Apache Kafka, Strimzi, Kafka Connect API and KRaft. You have 4–6 years of experience working with Java and Spring Boot. You have experience with PostgreSQL. You have strong experience with Azure Kubernetes Service, AKS. You have experience with Linux, including WSL. You have experience with GitHub Actions and ArgoCD. You have knowledge of Splunk, Fluent Bit and Helm. DevOps & Automation You have experience with CI/CD using GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins. You have experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform or equivalent tools. Observability You have experience with observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana and Prometheus. You have experience with Fluent Bit or OpenTelemetry. Streaming & Messaging You have experience with Apache Kafka at platform level, including clusters, performance and security. You have experience with HiveMQ broker. Nice to have You have experience with APIM platforms. You have experience with Azure, AWS or Google Cloud. You have experience with cloud cost optimization. You have experience working in an integration department within a large enterprise environment. You have strong problem-solving skills and a humble attitude. You are comfortable taking operational responsibility and can communicate fluently in English, both spoken and written. Swedish language skills are considered an advantage.
