Konsultuppdrag | Senior Database Engineer

Location: Stockholm<br>Work Model: Hybrid — 2 days per week onsite in Central Stockholm<br>Start Date: Mid‑September<br>Duration: 6 months, with a very strong potential for extension <br><br>Key Responsibilities:<br><br> - Lead and actively contribute to the end-to-end migration of Oracle database services to PostgreSQL, ensuring stability and continuity for platform operations.<br> - Translate application and service requirements into effective database designs, acting as a bridge between development teams and database engineering.<br> - Review and validate schemas, configurations, and application-level database interactions to ensure correctness, performance, and compatibility throughout the migration.<br> - Identify gaps, risks, and optimization opportunities across the migration pipeline.<br> - Produce clear documentation, including migration learnings, best practices, and repeatable processes for future database modernization initiatives.<br><br>Required Skills & Experience:<br><br> - Extensive hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA or PostgreSQL-focused developer.<br> - Strong understanding of Oracle database concepts, including datatype mappings and migration considerations.<br> - Ability to work autonomously within an established migration framework and deliver high-quality outcomes.<br> - Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with engineering and database teams.<br> - Familiarity with Liquibase or similar tools for schema versioning and database change management.<br><br>Nice-to-Have Skills:<br><br> - Experience with Java applications interacting with PostgreSQL.<br> - Exposure to distributed systems or event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, Solace).<br> - Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., Cursor, Claude agents).<br> - Experience migrating high-traffic, low-downtime services.
