Laboratory Engineer Multiplex Immunohistochemistry
About the position
Kromnigon AB is a biotechnology company developing reagents and technologies for multicolour microscopy and tissue-based analysis.
We are seeking a Laboratory Engineer for a three-month full-time project focused on the development, optimisation and evaluation of multiplex immunohistochemistry assays on tissue samples.
The position is highly laboratory-based and requires substantial hands-on experience with histological tissue preparation and immunohistochemical staining. The successful candidate will work independently with assay execution, troubleshooting and evaluation in close collaboration with the Kromnigon research team.

Main responsibilities
The work will primarily include:
Development, optimisation and evaluation of multiplex immunohistochemistry (IHC) assays
Performance of multiplex staining protocols on tissue sections
Preparation and handling of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue
Tissue sectioning and preparation of slides for histological analysis
Deparaffinisation, antigen retrieval, blocking and immunostaining
Optimisation of antibodies, staining conditions and assay parameters
Evaluation of staining quality, specificity and reproducibility
Microscopy-based assessment and documentation of experimental results
Testing and evaluation of reagents and laboratory protocols
Documentation of experimental procedures and results
Required qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with:
A relevant university degree in biomedicine, molecular biology, biotechnology, biomedical laboratory science, histology, pathology or a related life-science field
Documented hands-on laboratory experience with immunohistochemistry
Practical experience with multiplex immunohistochemistry and/or multiplex immunofluorescence
Experience working with FFPE tissue samples
Practical experience with histological techniques, including tissue sectioning, deparaffinisation and preparation of tissue sections for staining
Experience in optimisation and troubleshooting of immunostaining protocols
Ability to independently plan, perform, document and evaluate laboratory experiments
Good written and spoken English
Meritorious qualifications
It is considered an advantage if the candidate has:
Experience from cancer research, tumour biology or tumour pathology
Experience analysing human tumour tissue
Experience with multicolour fluorescence microscopy
Experience with image-based evaluation of multiplex-stained tissue
Previous experience developing or validating histological or immunohistochemical assays
Experience working in a research or biotechnology environment
Employment
The position is a full-time fixed-term employment for three months, based at Kromnigon AB at AstraZeneca BioVentureHub in Mölndal, Sweden.
Planned starting date: as soon as possible / by agreement.
