Lead Architect - Digital

We’re redefining how automotive software is built. As a joint venture between Volvo Group and Daimler Truck, Coretura blends startup speed with industry strength. Ever looked at a system and wondered who on earth decided this? Here’s your chance to be the who. Coretura Digital is our development kit, internal developer platform, enterprise IT, AI platform, and data and observability. Plenty of good ideas, and they all need to point in the same direction. As Lead Architect, reporting to our CDO, you’re the one who makes that happen. What you’ll do You’ll own the target architecture for all of Digital, which mostly means deciding things. A few examples of what will land on your desk: The Digital target architecture and principles. Yours to write, and yours to keep current Engineering standards for all of Digital, worked out together with our architects and tech leads The calls on what’s standard, what’s configurable and what’s off-limits as more customers come on board Security and regulation built in from the start with our Security Hub, rather than bolted on the week before an audit How AI shows up across everything we build, together with our AI Hub You’ll represent Digital in our Architecture Forum, where the big decisions are made, and take the day-to-day calls within Digital yourself. Together with our Head of System Architecture, you’ll also shape how our cloud and the software in the vehicle work together. No automotive background needed, we’ll get you up to speed. What you bring You’ve made big architecture calls before, and some of them turned out wrong. You know which ones, and why. That’s exactly the experience we’re after. You probably around a decade of experience in software, a lot of it as the architect who actually decided, ideally somewhere that grew fast. You go deep in cloud, data, AI or enterprise IT, and distributed systems, multi-tenancy and APIs that other developers depend on are familiar territory. We’re looking for someone who leads through technical credibility and can bring architects and engineers from different teams together around a shared direction. You’re just as credible with executives as with senior engineers, and you know how to guide people toward the solution that works best for everyone. Why Coretura?
