Lead UX Designer, AI Product Transformation
THE OPPORTUNITY IN A NUTSHELL You? A designer who's restless about what comes next — not just the next iteration, but genuinely new product experiences where AI acts on behalf of users, not just alongside them.Role? As our UX Lead for AI Product Transformation, you'll define what agentic experiences actually look and feel like — designing entirely new interaction paradigms where autonomous systems monitor, decide, and act for car dealers, home buyers, recruiters, and second-hand sellers.Tech stack? Modern design & prototyping ecosystems (e.g., Figma) partnered closely with Machine Learning frameworks, data science models, and complex technical architectures.Company? Vend, home of FINN, Blocket, Tori, Oikotie, DBA & Bilbasen, where millions of people across the Nordics connect to find what they need — whether it's a job, a home, a way to move, or a fresh start.Location? Join us in our Oslo, Stockholm, or Copenhagen office with the flexibility to work remotely 3 days per weekWhy us? This isn't about adding AI features to existing flows. It's about designing entirely new experiences at massive Nordic scale — and we measure success by whether users and customers genuinely adopt what we build, not by how impressive the AI looks on a demo slide. You'll work in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment where your design choices directly shape how millions of people delegate tasks to autonomous systems. Sounds like your cup of tea? Check out the details below! WHO ARE YOU? We're looking for someone with deep design expertise and the confidence to work in territory where the patterns haven't been written yet. We value diverse perspectives and non-traditional backgrounds, though we anticipate the following skills will help you succeed: Deep product design expertise: You bring a portfolio demonstrating strong end-to-end product thinking, typically built over 8+ years of UX experience (or equivalent depth).Comfort with technical complexity: You have proven experience designing complex, data-rich, or technically sophisticated products and feel comfortable working close to the underlying technology.Thriving in ambiguity: You possess the structure and independence to organise your own work, carve out paths in fast-moving environments, and adapt to evolving product needs.Commercial instinct: You understand that great design needs to be viable. You naturally think about whether what you're designing will actually create value for the business and the customer — not just look good in a prototype.Dual mastery of discovery and delivery: You can seamlessly shift from user research, prototyping, and concept validation to detailed interaction design and technical specifications.Cross-functional co-creation: You value deep collaboration with engineering and machine learning teams, viewing product creation as a team sport rather than a solitary hand-off.Inclusive communication in English: Fluency in spoken and written English is required. This role requires articulating complex AI behaviours into clear, trustworthy human experiences and aligning design rationales across diverse, cross-border Nordic teams. Nice to have: Experience with AI/ML or automation-driven products, marketplace or platform business models, agent-based or conversational UX patterns, or working across multiple product verticals simultaneously. WHAT'S THE JOB LIKE? The Goal and Mission Your overall mission is to define the interaction paradigms for agentic products. You will answer the core questions of how users delegate tasks to, monitor, and safely override autonomous AI systems across Vend's entire ecosystem — while balancing product conviction with market desirability. Your Typical Week Lead Discovery & Concept Work: Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to map out what's technically possible and user-centric.Drive User Research: Validate entirely new interaction patterns. Since much of what we are building has no established industry playbook, you will be setting the standard.Evolve Design Frameworks: Create flexible, scalable design systems that translate complex AI behaviours into clear, predictable, and trustworthy user experiences.Co-Create & Coach: Work synchronously with ML engineers to understand model capabilities and constraints, while raising the design bar and mentoring other designers across the broader Vend community. Current & Exciting Projects You will be embedding within our core verticals (Mobility, Real Estate, Jobs, and Recommerce) to build autonomous agents that handle heavy lifting for users: Mobility: An autonomous agent that monitors a car dealer's inventory, dynamically adjusts pricing and budgets — where the dealer sets a goal and the agent handles the rest.Real Estate: An always-on home-buyer agent that watches the market, coordinates condition reports, and prompts the buyer only when human action is needed.Jobs: A recruiter agent that identifies passive talent through latent signals, conducts conversational screening, and surfaces top-tier matches. Key Stakeholders You will be a core part of a cross-functional team of ~14, working directly with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Machine Learning Engineers, while acting as a bridge to Vend's wider design community. A few words from your Manager "Hi, I'm Rob, Head of AI Product Transformation. I started Vend's AI product transformation team because I believe the next wave of marketplace value won't come from better search filters or smarter recommendations. It'll come from products that genuinely do the work on behalf of our users whilst keeping them firmly in control. Our team is a cross-functional group of ~14 across product, UX, engineering, and data science. The design challenges ahead are the ones I find most interesting: How do you build trust in a system that acts autonomously? How do you design for a user who checks in once a day rather than interacting continuously? How do you make an agent's decisions l
