Legal Counsel (6 months fixed term)

Our products are used in overt 3000+ stores and across 60+ countries!</span></p><h4>About the role</h4><p>Working with global enterprise brands rolling out our IoT and SaaS products in over 60 countries presents complex legal challenges. And that’s where you come in: we are looking for an in-house counsel to assist support our teams. On any given day, you will support the business teams in contract processes, be our go-to for all GDPR related questions, and be a corporate law wizard. This is a lean legal function, so you will have real ownership, broad exposure, and the opportunity to shape how legal supports the business.</span></p><p><br><strong>We're excited about you because...</strong></p><ul><li><p>You have a genuine business interest. You will be expected to be a “self-starter”, proactively driving forward matters with a significant level of autonomy.</p></li><li><p>You appreciate having a variety of stakeholders to work with, including people from sales, customer success, product teams, management, people &amp; culture, and development teams - seeing yourself as a <em>“spider in the web”</em>.</p></li><li><p>You have a degree in law from Sweden, U.S, Europe, or otherwise a common law jurisdiction and at least 3+ years of relevant experience.</p></li><li><p>Experience advising on commercial, privacy, and/or technology issues in a B2B context.</p></li><li><p>As almost all legal work is international, English is the primary language.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><strong>What you'll do</strong></p><ul><li><p>Be a legal advisor to teams at Volumental, including the Commercial Teams, Product and Tech teams, as well as Management.</p></li><li><p>Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including IoT and SaaS customer agreements, services agreements, distributor agreements, confidentiality agreements, data privacy agreements, and consulting agreements.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate in the support of data privacy and other compliance initiatives, including keeping up to date on new and changing laws.</p></li><li><p>Help our customer’s privacy teams understand how Volumental handles data and other privacy requirements as part of the sales process.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with our product development teams to ensure our products are built with privacyby design principles.</p></li><li><p>Assist with corporate matters, IP, and strategic initiatives:</p></li><li><p>Advise and assist with the legal aspects related to strategic initiatives, implementation of new products into Volumental.</p></li><li><p>Assist with trademark &amp; patent maintenance.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Bonus - Not required, but nice to have:</strong></p><ul><li><p>In-house experience at an international tech-company</p></li><li><p>Experience in navigating international firms, projects, and negotiations</p></li><li><p>A privacy background or a strong interest in learning privacy law (including GDPR, PIPL, CCPA; COPPA, etc). <strong><br></strong></p></li></ul><p><strong>What we offer</strong></p><ul><li><p>Direct access to leadership </p></li><li><p>Flexible, hybrid work (at least 3 days from the office)</p></li><li><p>An AI-forward team that gives you the tools to work smarter</p></li><li><p><span>Personal learning budget and access to coaching</span></p></li><li><p><span>Opportunity to work with a great team of 15+ nationalities in our English-speaking office</span></p></li><li><p><span>Occupational pension at ITP1 level</span></p></li><li>&
