Linux System Admin

Assignment description We are looking for a Linux System Administrator with a strong focus on automation, architecture and platform engineering to design, build and maintain a GPU-enabled Remote Desktop environment. The platform supports high-performance remote desktops used for pre- and post-processing of HPC workloads, including simulation, visualization and rendering. The environment is based on Rocky Linux / RHEL and uses technologies such as X11, Xfce4, NICE DCV, EnginFrame and SLURM. In this role, you will design, deploy and maintain the Linux-based VDI environment and develop automation and Infrastructure-as-Code, primarily using Ansible, to enable consistent and repeatable deployments. You will also work to ensure that the platform is secure, scalable, performant and maintainable over time. You will collaborate closely with HPC and infrastructure engineering teams and contribute to documenting architecture, configurations, deployment workflows and operational procedures. Qualifications: You have solid experience as a Linux System Administrator, preferably working with Rocky Linux or RHEL. You have strong skills in automation and Infrastructure-as-Code, preferably using Ansible or similar tools. You are proficient in scripting, primarily Bash. Experience with Python is considered an advantage. You have experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Git and GitLab. You have a good understanding of X11, desktop environments such as Xfce4 and GNOME, and remote rendering or display protocols. You have good knowledge of networking, security and monitoring tools, preferably with experience of Prometheus-based observability. You have a strong architectural mindset and the ability to design scalable and maintainable systems. You are comfortable working independently and taking ownership of complex technical environments. Nice to Have It is meriting if you have experience working with HPC environments and the SLURM workload manager. A plus is experience with NICE DCV, EnginFrame (EF Portal), Open OnDemand or similar remote visualization platforms. It is also meriting if you have experience with container technologies such as Docker and Podman, as well as monitoring and observability tooling.
