Logistics Engineer – Packaging & Production Development About the Assignment We are looking for an experienced Logistics Engineer to join a leading global industrial company in an exciting assignment focused on packaging engineering, production development, and logistics optimization. In this role, you will drive the development and implementation of sustainable, cost-efficient packaging solutions while ensuring compliance with current regulations and supporting continuous improvements across the supply chain. You will work in a highly collaborative environment together with production, logistics, supply chain, and engineering teams to optimize material flows and packaging processes. This assignment also includes project responsibilities where you will lead technical initiatives, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure successful delivery of packaging and logistics-related improvements. Key Responsibilities Develop, evaluate and implement innovative packaging solutions that meet business, customer and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with packaging regulations, including Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). Evaluate and select appropriate packaging materials based on quality, sustainability and cost. Drive initiatives to reduce packaging costs and optimize existing packaging solutions. Analyze current inbound packaging flows and identify improvement opportunities together with Supply Chain and Logistics. Collect, analyze and document packaging-related data to support continuous improvements. Design packaging solutions that protect products during transportation, storage and handling. Develop and maintain packaging standards, procedures and best practices. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on packaging efficiency and operational excellence. Project Responsibilities As part of larger investment and development projects, you will: Take ownership of assigned technical deliverables and ensure timely, high-quality execution. Lead technical activities within your area of expertise. Coordinate medium-sized project teams, including planning, resource allocation and budget follow-up. Manage technical aspects of installations together with external suppliers and contractors. Prepare technical specifications and scopes of work for supplier investments. Establish efficient material flows for new products and production processes. Monitor industry developments, standards and emerging technologies within packaging and logistics. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or a related field. Experience working with packaging engineering, logistics engineering or production engineering. Good understanding of packaging materials, packaging optimization and material flow. Experience with packaging regulations, preferably PPWR. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify improvement opportunities using data. Experience working in cross-functional projects. Strong communication skills in English. Meritorious Experience from manufacturing or industrial production environments. Experience leading technical projects or work packages. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies. Experience collaborating with suppliers and external contractors. Understanding of production logistics and supply chain processes.
