THE ROLE: As an Equipment Manager in the Product Development Organization, you will be responsible for bringing up, maintaining, and monitoring test equipment used for L6 testing and manufacturing. You will also support infrastructure thermal design and implementation, validation, and technology development for AMD Instinct products. Success in this role requires close collaboration with key engineering teams, including silicon design, board engineering, validation, contract manufacturing, and other AMD leaders. THE PERSON: We are seeking an experienced Test Equipment Manager to lead the design, development, bring-up, and maintenance of L6 manufacturing and automated test equipment for next-generation AMD Instinct products. This senior, hands-on technical leadership role is ideal for someone skilled in optimizing and maintaining equipment. You will define, develop, and validate innovative test and automation solutions that meet demanding performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements across multiple product lines. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Bring-up, develop, maintain and manage PCB and L6 test and automation equipment (ICT, AOI, MDA, Structural test, Functional test, leakage test, etc…) Lead and manage personnel within the equipment section. Promote improvement projects and enhance equipment productivity. Plan and execute personnel development and training. Plan and execute rigorous preventative maintenance and regular inspection programs to ensure continuous and reliable equipment operation. Analyze and resolve complex equipment anomalies swiftly, implementing effective countermeasures to maximize machine utilization rates and elevate product quality. Lead, mentor, and manage the equipment engineering team while developing, training, and enforcing robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Optimize production efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs by strategically planning equipment layouts, streamlining workflows, and introducing advanced machinery. Ensure strict compliance with all workplace safety regulations and establish clear technical specifications and standardized instructional manuals for equipment. Oversee the comprehensive evaluation, procurement, outsourcing, and assembly processes for new manufacturing equipment to expand production capabilities. Execute other strategic engineering projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and ad-hoc managerial assignments as directed by upper management. Design/implement infrastructure that supports test and qualification of our Instinct product in production PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Over 10 years of experience in maintenance and management of PCB and L6 test equipment (ICT, AOI, MDA, Structural test, Functional test, Leakage test, etc…) Experience managing teams. Contract manufacturing work experience Strong coordination and cooperation skills. Experience in project improvement is a plus; cooperative attitude. Excellent communication skills Excellent problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (or related fields).
