Two business areas - one thesis program As a master thesis student at Sectra, you can explore opportunities within two different areas: Sectra Medical and Sectra Communications . While our missions are different, both areas share a strong focus on technology, innovation, problem-solving, and creating real value for society. Sectra Medical – technology for the future of healthcare At Sectra Medical, we develop medical imaging IT solutions that increase the efficiency of hospitals and clinics worldwide. With decades of experience in the field, our knowledge and passion for technology and healthcare drive us to create solutions that contribute to more patient-centered care. As a thesis student, you can explore challenges within areas such as AI/ML, complex software development, image analysis, visualization, and advanced database applications . We also welcome students with a UI/UX profile who are interested in contributing to the future of healthcare. Sectra Communications – technology for a safer society At Sectra Communications, we develop secure communication solutions that help defense forces, authorities, and other critical functions in society protect sensitive information and systems from eavesdropping and unauthorized access. Our solutions are used at national and international levels, including by the EU, NATO, and more than half of the EU member states. As part of our team, you get the opportunity to work with challenges within cybersecurity, AI/ML, secure communications, software, and hardware engineering . Your thesis at Sectra Regardless of which area interests you most, we want your thesis project to be a good match for your skills, interests, and ambitions. For our Master Thesis Program, we are looking for people who: Are enrolled in a master’s-level engineering program, preferably within IT, software engineering, hardware engineering, or a similar field , with a strong academic background. Have a strong analytical mindset and enjoy understanding, breaking down, and solving complex problems. Are curious, ambitious, and motivated to learn and take on new challenges. Can quickly grasp new information and make use of previous experiences. Are good communicators who can interact with colleagues, partners, and customers in an effective, clear, and constructive way. Are fluent in English . For Sectra Medical , we also welcome students with a UI/UX profile and a passion for technology and the medical IT industry. For Sectra Communications , you need to be fluent in both Swedish and English and be a Swedish citizen . Most importantly, we are looking for pioneers and problem solvers who want to use technology to make a difference — whether that means helping create a healthier society or a safer one.
