Payment Scheme Compliance Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION: Payment Scheme Relationship Management - Serve as the primary point of contact for all communication between the company and Visa/Mastercard representatives - Monitoring and managing the regulations and releases of Visa/Mastercard, by translating, summarizing and updating payment scheme changes to internal teams or management. - Build and maintain strong relationships with Visa/Mastercard, managing direct communications and official inquiries, regarding, and not limited to, product launches and policy updates. Risk Mitigation: - Identify and escalate potential operational issues or risks, by ensuring the company is fully compliant with the payment schemes’ regulations and rules, in a timely manner - Support scheme fraud investigations for acquiring customers. - Maintain visibility of fines, remediation progress, and compliance status through dashboards and regular reporting. - Submit risk reports to Visa/Mastercard when necessary. - Provide compliance guidance and training to merchants and partners. - Support Sales and Customer Success with scheme-related queries, high-risk merchant onboarding, RFP responses, and customer communications. PERSON SPECIFICATION: - 3-5 years hands-on experience in a relevant role managing card schemes compliance and payment schemes relationships (Visa & Mastercard), within the Payments/EMI/FinTech space is a must - Strong knowledge of Visa/Mastercard compliance frameworks, mandate cycles, and non‑compliance processes. - Proven ability to manage cross‑functional compliance deliverables. - Exceptional ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex legal and regulatory documents. - Excellent communication and investigation skills with the ability to simplify and communicate complex regulatory content to the relevant teams - Proactive persona with the ability to work in fast-paced environments. - Experience with Mastercard DIMP, Visa mandate processes, and fine dispute procedures. - Keeping up with Visa and Mastercard releases, updates and regulations. - Fluency in English.
