Our client is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join their team and help design, build, and operate secure, scalable, and reliable cloud platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). In this role, you will drive platform automation, infrastructure-as-code practices, CI/CD enablement, and operational excellence. You will work closely with engineers, architects, product teams, and stakeholders to create platform capabilities that accelerate development while ensuring stability, security, and compliance. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain scalable platform services and cloud infrastructure in GCP. Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. Develop and maintain platform services and APIs using Python and FastAPI. Manage and optimize PostgreSQL environments and platform integrations. Ensure high availability, observability, reliability, and security of platform services. Collaborate with engineers and product teams to improve developer experience and platform adoption. Implement and maintain cloud governance, access controls, and security best practices. Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve platform and infrastructure issues. Drive automation initiatives to reduce operational overhead and improve service quality. Support networking, connectivity, and identity management across cloud environments. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Proven experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or similar role. Strong experience with Python development. Hands-on experience with FastAPI or similar backend frameworks. Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, and integrations. Extensive experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Solid experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices. Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. Strong understanding of DevOps, SRE, and platform engineering principles. Experience designing secure, scalable, and maintainable cloud architectures. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Infrastructure is managed consistently through code. Deployment processes are reliable, secure, and repeatable. Engineers can onboard, build, and deploy faster using self-service platform capabilities. Cloud environments remain secure, compliant, and cost-efficient. Operational excellence and platform reliability continuously improve over time. Nice to Have Experience with platform engineering teams and internal developer platforms. Knowledge of networking and cloud connectivity. Experience with data platforms and metadata management solutions. Familiarity with OpenMetadata.
