Precision Farming Research Internship

As a Precision Farming Research Intern, you will contribute to the development of innovative methods and technologies for precision agriculture in orchards/vineyards. This role covers a broad spectrum of activities, including algorithm design, software development, digital twin development, simulation, and optimization of agricultural operations. The objective is to improve the productivity, efficiency, and sustainability of Kubota's agricultural machinery and digital farming solutions. Position within the Organization You will work as part of the Kubota Technology Innovation Europe (KTI-EU) team, contributing to research and development projects under the guidance of experienced research engineers and scientists. KTI-EU focuses on the development of innovative digital solutions, intelligent systems, and advanced technologies that support the future of agriculture. Responsibilities As a Precision Farming Research Intern, you will: Analyze agricultural datasets (e.g., imagery, point clouds, GPS, and geospatial data) to characterize field variability and crop conditions. Develop algorithms and digital twin models to support precision agriculture applications in orchards. Simulate and optimize agricultural operations, including machinery performance, route planning, and input application strategies. Develop software prototypes and user interfaces to support research outcomes and decision-making tools. Design and support field experiments to validate models, algorithms, and operational concepts. Communicate research outcomes through reports, presentations, and technical discussions with colleagues and project stakeholders.
