Job Description – add details here Working Conditions:Employee will be operating in a warehouse environment with exposure to loud machinery. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Basic Purpose:To reproduce high volume, priority copies on a deadline basis for Navy Federal Business Units and entire Navy Federal staff. To maintain print production equipment in working order. Operate digital press equipment. Perform various bindery functions and operate specialized bindery equipment. Performs under supervision. Responsibilities: Produce and deliver high volume scheduled and on demand print projectsReceive print production work orders, analyzing size, complexity, and finishing requirements, prioritizing to ensure orders are completed in a time efficient manner and deadlines are metConsult with leadership daily on production schedules and make necessary adjustments to ensure project deadlines are metElectronically access and run print ready files, utilizing most appropriate materials and processing equipment for productionProvide print layout support by utilizing applicable print imposition technology programs to arrange print layouts that best optimize print production efficiencies and resources; utilize established processes to determine and operate appropriate equipment to produce digital or hard proofs for client approval prior to final productionEnsure quality standards are met during all stages of work in process, ensuring accuracy, production schedules and cost efficiencies are met; escalate issues as neededIdentify errors and problems and take appropriate corrective action; escalate recurring workflow or operational issues to managementValidate packaging of finished projects for shipping, inspecting packaging and ensuring the completion and accuracy of all supporting documentationDevelop and maintain a working knowledge of applicable printing and bindery services through conferences, seminars and continued educationMaintain Print Operations printer/bindery equipment and supplies; perform scheduled daily, weekly and monthly routine maintenanceProvide and maintain a clean, efficient and safe working environment at all timesDiagnose and trouble shoot equipment problems; complete minor repairs if appropriate, consult with leadership when equipment service calls are neededComplete weekly inventories using word processing, spreadsheet software and consult with leadership to ensure essential materials and supplies are readily available for print production and equipment maintenanceLog and report meter readings daily when assignedServe as mentor/trainer and provide guidance and assistance to team members; Serve as technical resource to team to ensure the proper processing and set-up of bindery assignmentsOperate material handling equipment and other non-bindery equipment needed for supporting tasks within Print OperationsMonitor recurring workflow or operational issues and escalate to managementResponsible for powering down equipment daily and ensure all tools are put away at the end of each work shiftPerforms other related duties as assigned Qualifications and Education Requirements: Experience operating and maintaining various bindery equipmentWorking knowledge of printing related bindery functionsAbility to interpret printing specifications and implement verbal directionsEffective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsEffective organizational, planning and time management skillsAbility to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and set prioritiesAbility to work independently and in a team environmentEffective skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisionsEffective skill interpreting and applying oral and written instructionsAbility to measure up proof sheets to verify trim and fold marginsEffective skill with Adobe Acrobat , Microsoft Suite, and associated programsAbility to merge color copies or tabs into text copies using special equipment functions Desired Qualifications and Education Requirements: High school education or equivalentExposure to operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining a digital printer-copier press, large format printer, laminator, and various bindery and finishing equipmentFamiliarity with various grades and weights of paper, vinyl, and other print materialsAbility to interpret and understand client printing specifications, requirements, and expectationsSoftware skills including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat Pro Bank Secrecy Section (BSA):Remains cognizant of and adheres to Navy Federal policies and procedures, regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
