The aim of the project is to support small and medium-sized foodtech companies in creating sustainable business models, in raising capital, market access and with relevant knowledge, especially in food technology. In three years, the initiative is expected to contribute to 170 jobs in the regions. Assignment description: On behalf of Foodtech Innovation Network, Innovation Skåne is searching for an expert that can perform test runs to evaluate and further develop a potentially industrially scalable process for producing portion-sized food products. Tre different products should be evaluated including multiple testruns for each product. The products are portion-shaped such as pucks or patties with an individual weight in the range of approximately 10–25 g. The process includes preparing food ingredients, mincing or other technology for reducing particle size. The result should be a relevant process in steps leading to a heat-treated and portion-formed product. The expert will work close to our member and evaluate a suitable process setup eg raw material handling, size reduction/mixing, portioning/forming, and heat treatment. Focus should be placed on controlled and scalable heat treatment, for example using continuous microwave technology or other comparable, industrially relevant technology. The member will participate in planning and participating in the testrun. Must have requirments: access to pilot-scale or industrially relevant equipment for the continuous heat treatment of food products, including microwave technology be able to conduct trials using small product portions (approximately 10–25 g each) and test batches suitable for pilot-scale evaluation, at least four years of documented experience in process development and/or scale-up within industrial food production have the expertise to adjust relevant process parameters—such as treatment time, temperature, and energy input—to suit different types of food matrices Be able to carry out and document all agreed-upon trial runs for three product matrices within the scope of the assignment Need to have requirements: Experience of development of processes for various types of food matrices, such as plant-based raw materials and animal protein Continuous processes capable of being transferred from pilot-scale trials to industrial production Process design combining heat treatment with portioning and/or packaging Documentation of process parameters to serve as a basis for further process development and scale-up. Start: Soon as possible End: 2026-11-30 Competency Level: Expert Consultant Competency Area: Test bed operations, analyses/tests and development environments Option: An option to extend the contract for 2 months is available. Any option exercised under this agreement shall always be subject to the existing terms and conditions. Assignment Scope: The assignment is a fixed-price assignment and will be planned in detail between the member company and the selected consultant. Compensation Model: Fixed Price No compensation will be paid for travel expenses or travel time. Invoicing Plan: 100% upon start date.
