Production Development Specialist – Maintenance & Connected Hardware For our client, we are looking for a Production Development Specialist with a focus on Maintenance and Connected Hardware. About the assignment In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing production methods, processes, and equipment to support operational targets related to quality, safety, delivery performance, and cost efficiency. The assignment has a strong focus on maintenance development and industrial digitalization. You will play an important role in establishing effective maintenance strategies, systems, and ways of working for new and existing production equipment in a modern, highly automated manufacturing environment. You will also participate in projects and standardization initiatives related to Connected Hardware, including RFID solutions, torque tools, smart tooling systems, identification systems, and other production-related digital equipment. Responsibilities Optimize production processes, equipment, and working methods to improve quality, safety, efficiency, and cost performance. Define and implement maintenance strategies for production equipment and facilities. Contribute to establishing a systematic maintenance concept for new production equipment and production lines. Develop preventive and condition-based maintenance (AM/PM) to maximize equipment availability and reduce unplanned downtime. Develop and continuously improve maintenance systems and ensure that technical documentation is kept up to date. Participate in investment and industrialization projects, ensuring appropriate requirements regarding maintenance, serviceability, reliability, and operational performance. Perform Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and drive corrective and preventive improvement activities. Develop spare parts strategies and ensure appropriate spare parts availability and inventory levels. Evaluate and support the procurement of service agreements and coordinate activities with external service partners. Plan and coordinate major maintenance activities and planned production shutdowns. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and legal requirements related to production equipment, lifting equipment, inspections, and similar areas. Participate in cross-functional projects to develop and standardize production-related technologies and Connected Hardware, including RFID solutions, torque tools, smart tools, identification systems, and digital production tools. Collaborate closely with production, engineering, logistics, R&D, IT, and external suppliers to ensure robust and future-proof solutions. Qualifications We are looking for a consultant with: A university degree in Maintenance Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent field. Experience working with maintenance within the manufacturing industry. Knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Experience working with maintenance management systems and structured continuous improvement. An interest in industrial digitalization, connected equipment, and smart manufacturing solutions. Strong communication skills in both Swedish and English, written and spoken. Meritorious Experience working with production equipment, automation, or highly automated/robotized manufacturing environments. You are structured, analytical, and solution-oriented, with the ability to combine technical expertise with effective cross-functional collaboration. You are comfortable translating operational needs into sustainable and efficient technical solutions and enjoy taking ownership of improvements. You are proactive, engaged, and motivated by establishing new processes, standards, and ways of working that contribute to stable and future-ready production.
